(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score My built 07 Speed3 suddenly started stumbling and sputtering when cornering or when going up our steep driveway. It feels like fouled plugs/blocked fuel filter/wet air intake/contaminated fuel, etc, but can't see anything obviously wrong. It just loads up and craps all over itself, bellows black smoke and tries to die. When it's straight and level again...it comes back to life with a vengeance, like nothing before? WTF? Haven't had any intake problems since the build and can't reach the mech or the tuner for advice. Can anyone help as to next move? I don't want to drive it or even start it until! Thanks and best regards, DH |

| Logs? It would be useful to know what you've got as far as fuel pressure, MAF signal, etc.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I misplaced the Cobb access port used in the tune last year. The tuner (in Albuquerque) doesn't return my calls I don't have the info written down anywhere. I don't know from nothin about building or tuning...I just signed the checks. I've learned everything I know now the hard way ($$$) I just thought one of you tech savvy guys might have a hunch... throttle position switch loose, or something?? Something I can try before I tow it to the speed shop and bend over...again. I know it has CPE HP fuel pump+DeatschWerks in-tank pump, CPE elevate turbo/manifold/downpipe, Sure short ram/turbo inlet pipes, CPE TMIC, new injectors, Darrell Cox steel VVT actuator and the fuel trim was 14.5? |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So, it's airsickness...technically...if we leave it straight and level long enough...it will just eventually get better? Gosh, what a relief! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Changing out struts after 80k on Koni FSD's. Want to try Bilstein this time. Using stock springs (07 Gen1 MS3), should I get B6 or B8 Bilstein struts? Appreciate info from anyone with experience with these. Thanks dh |

Maybe start a new thread. The title to this one you started before is not going to get you any responses on Bilstein struts and shocks, except by pure luck. FWIW see my signature for a hint. I run stock springs. Others will give you a different answer. On stock springs, if you had bothered to search, you would find that either work fine. What is more important than B6 vs. B8 on stock springs, is that you must replace the stock front strut bearings (top hats). Don't even think about trying to reuse what you have. If you get someone to do this job for you, make sure they do that, or you will have to do it over.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the reply and the info, MSMS3. I posted this way on purpose. I'd rather be lucky than skillful any day. FWIW, I checked and you're 1 year older than me, your gen1 is 1 year newer than mine. I knew about the B6/B8/top-hats/bearings/springs thing...just trying to see if there is anyone else, like me, out there. You were the first reply and correct. I guess I just got lucky The B8's are for use with "lowering" springs/"modified" suspensions. The MS3's stock suspension is factory modified (the M3 Hatch/Sedan is not). Anyway, I'm going with B6's, like you, and thanks for the help. BTW, how do you like them? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The B6s are on all four corners and have been great. Had them 3 or 4 years, now. Still like new. They will be quite a bit firmer than your Konis, especially over expansion strips, but greatly improve handling.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for reply MS. You're using stock springs, right? I want "quite a bit firmer" than the Koni's. 2015-11-25 15.18.18.jpg |
