Timing is impecible, lol. Just finished up my alternator wiring (which was a huge pita). I still have to do some trim work on the alternator cover, check my belt tension with the smaller alt. pulley, remake the water line that I lost, charge/reinstall the battery, and hook up my egt gauge. I've got plenty to keep me busy til it gets here, lol.

Got mine today! Pics coming tonight! Thing looks absolutely amazing! No exaguration here! Collector looks sweet! Even the EWG tube looks like it has a good flow-path! I'll be checking the lengths tonight and test fitting everything, then tomorrow I have to go have a bung welded in, and if there's time, ceramic coat it at my buddies. Then I have to modify my oil drain line and make the other water line. Then I should be able to put the shit back together by the end of this week! Woot!

I bolted it to the head to test fit. Awesome news and not-so-awesome news. The awesome news is that my top-mount l/a ic will absolutely fit with no problems what-so-ever. It also appears the turbo will fit with the open-element filter. The not-so-awesome issue however, is that my wastegate doesnt fit...







It's not total fail though a) because I did request the 38mm 2-bolt flange instead of the v-banded flange it was designed with, and b) because I have a solution/suggestion...

I'm going to go have this angled piece of tube cut out and the flange rotated just a smidge forward and down.


That should put it right in that nook of space above the alternator AND have it aimed just right to use the dump pipe I got from Darksun, lol.

If I may, I'd suggest omitting this angle when constructing these for an ms6 because that line it interferes with is extremely solid and will not budge.

Thanks. Dropped it off at the welder. They're also going to be welding in my EGT bung and cutting my stock oil drain line for me. I don't exactly have all the tools I'd like, lol. They said (conservatively) that they won't have it done until teusday or wednesday next week. That's fine with me cause I still have a nice list of shit to do to keep me busy. They don't normally do car stuff, but they did a great job on my blow-thru cold pipe last summer. They normally build turbines for various applications. Like some are the size of a freakin 18-wheeler, lol.

I need to find some hardware for the T3 flange and the Tial flange, as well as a T3 gasket. I also need a longer riggid vacume line for the Tial. If John or anyone else could point me in a good direction for any of that it'd be greatly appreciated. The stock turbo studs wouldn't fit either, I already tried.

Until I get the manifold back, I'll be getting all the lines squared away for the turbo and get that all in place and tightened down, hooking up the EGT gauge, and drinking...lots of drinking.

I'm curious as to how you're doing your oil inlet line. Everyone seems to be using the stock one, chopping it off, and using a new fitting. But I'm just not sold on it, seems like something that may be prone to problems later down the road.

when i was going to use the holset i planned on cutting it where the flex part is out and using a silicone tube clamped on both ends...seems like a few people do this and dont have problems..

Both my oil lines will be modded hack jobs with the stockers. I have a lower flange for the drain line, but I can't use it since I have my transfer case in the way.

Hmmmm. I'm going to take my shit to Peakboost and see if they have any ideas. The oil inlet to the new turbo is almost twice the size as the stock..

I got my lines from darksun who had it done at a shop, the oil feed line is stepped down via two fittings at the turbo. Then the braided line is slid over the cut stock tube and clamped uber-tight on one end, and screwed onto the fittings with yet another fitting, lol. Not sure of the sizes, but it works and fits.

I got the manifold back yesterday. I'm finalizing the lines tonight. Did a quick test fit. This is going to be a huge pain in the ass to install. I can't get the wg bolts tightened or two of the turbo bolts into their place with the manifold in the engine bay due to space constraints, but if I drop it all in together i can't reach in there to hook up the lines or tighten the v-band for the dp, lol. I might also have to chop ~1" out of my dp too. I was hoping I could use the dump tube I got off darksun after the welding I had done, but it just barely hits the ac line enough to not fit.

So tonight I'll be finalizing the lines, moving a couple hoses that interfere with the filter, test fitting again, working out a way to get all the bolts, washers, and gaskets in place and tight, and marking the dump tube and down pipe for cutting and welding. Eventually I'll be recircing the dump tube into the dp, but I want to drive it up to a shop to do that to avoid any 'eyeballing fail'. I'm hoping to get the fittment welding done this week though, then after everything test fits right (for the fourth time) I can coat the manifold and put everything back together.

Oh, and the studs are going to be a bitch too. Anyone know if they make any E10 ratcheting wrenches?

lol wayyyyyyyyy ahead of you haha. they have one at sears. its some ninny muggins brand but its 1/4" in size and it fits perfect. look by all the individual ratcheting wrenches. its like 4 inches long and has the offset on both ends.

I'm considering installing it with my downpipe on the stocker until BNR actually releases their stage 3 turbo.

No, it works wonders on the stock turbo. Expect huge gains with the OEM turbo or the SST.

Well he had a T3 flange and a troublesome EWG issue. I'm stock flanged with an IWG so hopefully it's an easy install.

The quality and time put into this manifold strongly justifies the price. I believe any reputable fab shop would charge between 1k and 1.5k for a piece like this.

Could I have gone a cheaper route? Yes. Would it have been optimal for my goals? No.
