| Not Ranked : 0 score Its a reputable company so reliability really a non-issue. Always warranty if somethign does fuck up. And all CBE's offer the same performance... which is none.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I was wanting to eliminate my cats all together and just go custom piping all the way up but from what i understand that can cause lots of issues with emissions (considering i HAVE to have an inspection sticker every year here) as well as smoking from the lack of cats. Also, no performance gains from a CBE? Somehow i find that hard to believe. Last edited by Krylos225; 08-25-2011 at 04:33 PM. Reason: MSF Database - Automerged Doublepost |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Our main restrictions on the exhaust end are the 2 catalytic converters. Our CBEs are quite free flowing and will not restrict flow with simple bolt ons

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score What would u suggest for someone on a moderate budget as far as exhaust goes? I could prolly spend about 700-750ish. Maybe 800, and my roommate and I can put a bolt on system on. |

And gain wise.. I feel little to none. It's very loud for the first few hundred miles.. then once broken it, it's slightly softer.. Installed the turboxs catback! Refer to that thread for sound. Also while at it, get a test pipe to remove the 2ndary catalyst converter.

| Not Ranked : 0 score getting a downpipe and leaving the stock mid pipe is the most pointless thing i've ever heard. Either get a midpipe leave stock downpipe. Or get a downpipe that replaces the downpipe and midpipe like cobb, cp-e, cnt, and more.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score my only issue is that if i go catless i will not be able to pass emissions, and in louisiana u get WRECKED for inspection sticker violations and stuff and ive really yet to find a shop that will let big issues like that slide. Small things like tint and noise ordinance stuff sure. |

But the first catalytic converter the downpipe has an O2 sensor after the catalytic converter, deleting or replacing with a high flow unit increases the risk you'll throw a CEL.

| Not Ranked : 0 score O.K. guys, I went the opposite route and think it makes sense. See sig below. We all know that the significant restrictions are upstream of the CBE. That's why a big 3 inch bell mouth shaped catless downpipe with a flex joint followed by a 3 inch catless downpipe made sense for me. The exhaust gasses when exiting the turbo need that big bell mouth and the 3 inch piping to flow with minimal restriction. But by the time the gasses get to the CBE, they've cooled and compressed and will flow well through the stock CBE. I picked up a lot of power going this route and staying with the stock CBE. You can always put the stock catted midpipe back on for emission testing day. Unless they actually physically check to see if you have two cats, you'll probably be fine. Or you can spend the bucks for a catted dp or have a high flow one welded in. Either way, it's going to make lots of power, which just a CBE will not. Can't speak about other brands of downpipes, but the TurboXS catless has a raised O2 bung. While that does not totally 100% eliminate CEL's, they are rare. Only maybe 2-3 times per year, and they are easily read, confirmed and cleared with a cheap scan tool or any tuning device, such as AP or HT. Go for the better flow. Attack the restrictions where they are - upstream of the CBE, FTW. Oh, BTW, disagree with need for fuel pump internals upgrade on gen 1 MS3 to run aftermarket 3 inch downpipe/racepipe combo, even catless, if you can confirm that you have good pressure. I'm on stock pump with 1700 minimum pressure at 57,000 miles. But you do have to monitor.

If you guys want to check it out and give it a like and sub, ill be uploading more videos as I put more aftermarket parts on the car. Absolutely love the way it turned out and the way it sounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnK18qSOB7k |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Glad you like the sound and hope that was your motivation, because a change in sound is all you will get unless you have really done a lot of other mods that push whp beyond 300. That usually means an upgraded turbo. Even custom tuned, the k04 can't do much over 300 whp on pump gas. The stock CBE flows extremely well up to 300 whp. The exhaust flow restrictions are upstream in the downpipe and midpipe with their low flow cats.

You are likely to get louder with an aftermarket CBE, still not tame the drone and see no power gain. Just my observation running a catless 3" dp/rp combo for eight years.

Be the envy of your friends. Stand out in a crowd. FMIC info would be answered by searching. We do that here. You'd be surprised what you'd find by actually reading threads on the subject of your question. At least try rather than expecting to be spoon fed.
