Default What would you get to replace your Speed6?

I lost my speed6 due to an accident (caused by someone else). What would you get to replace your speed6? Preferably something with the power and all the new tech like AndroidAuto/Carplay.

Depends on what level of performance you want and how many $$$ you have budgeted.

An Audi S4, year model dependent on budget, would be a good transition, as its Quattro all wheel drive would have a similar feel. Get the 3.0TFSI supercharged version with dual clutch transmission. With just supercharger pulley swap and tune you can easily reach 450-480 hp on pump 93, more with race gas and race file tune. It’s easy to get them into the 11s in the quarter mile and a few with more intake and exhaust mods (ported blowers and larger throttle bodies, headers, fuel pump upgrade, etc.) are in the high 10s at 125+ trap speed. This is on the stock block and heads, no internals changed! That’s over 600 hp.

Tech packages are available, depending on year model, but it is a pricey option.

If you want max tech, get a f’ing Honda Civic or Prius.

@MSMS3; that seems like such a great value for its potential. i think i read something that you posted in the past of how easy it is to add horsepower with the pulley swap etc...

so that engine is also in the a4, a6 and sq5 etc... is there any substantial difference with the potential or can each of those cars be easily be modded the same way...

No, not in the A4 to my knowledge. That's the turbo 4. The supercharged 6 is only in certain models of the S4, S5, maybe some A6 and A7 models and, some Q5 (my S-Line) and the SQ. Audi has now switched to turbos on this 3.0L six and the new ECU is proving very difficult to crack and tune.

But, the models with the supercharged 3.0 six cylinder are drastically under tuned and that can be fixed with just bolt-ons and tuning. There is a huge aftermarket for modifying and tuning those engines and the cars that use it. For those on a tight budget, an older S4 with this engine would be a good lateral move over and up from an MS6, IMO.

So... the 3.0T supercharged engines have been relegated to mid to high-end models in various Audi vehicle lines. The 3.0T supercharged motor was available in the B8.5 S4 and S5, the C6 A6, the C7 A6 and A7, the D4 A8, the Q5, Q7, SQ5, and the second generation Touareg.

The B8.5 A4 and A5 were available with the 3.0T supercharged motor in Europe, but never got to the USA.

As far as tuning is concerned, there are huge gains to be made on the 3.0T supercharged engine. However, the same is true of the 2.0T in the A4/A5/etc., just at a bit of a lower starting level. That is, the 2.0T of the A4 is generally rated at between about 220-230hp and 235-270tq stock, depending on trim and model. An APR 93 Octane tune is good for around 70hp and 329tq. That's still a pretty substantial increase, even as compared to what we can do on the DISI motor these days.

Well said. The '17 S-Line Q5 with the supercharged 3.0 is my first Audi, so it's pretty new to me. But, the potential for easy power with both engines is huge. It's easier to make power with the 3.0T, as everything is there to get well north of 400 bhp, almost 500 bhp with just pulley, tuning, and a larger heat exchanger to keep temps down in the supercharger.

I'm sure there are other AWD options out there besides Audi and the S4 that might be comparable to the MS6 in OPs price range. The S4 would be the most comparable Audi.

It won't turn very well, but the '17+ F150s with the 3.5 EcoBoost are proving to be very capable with just a tune. Get the 4x4 model and it will have no problems from a dig. Mix in some E85 or race gas and you get over 500whp and 500-600wtq.

Once I get into a good spot, I'm going to dump my 2014 F150 for a newer model. I'm limited to about 375whp with tune only.

Essentially the same 3.5L Ecoboost is available in the Taurus SHO, the Flex, the Transit, the Explorer Sport, the Expedition, the MKS, the MKT, and the Navigator. Of course the new Raptor has the 3.5L as well. If only it was available in a smaller, lighter car with a stick, I'd be all over it as well.

Even the 2.7L Ecoboost motor is pretty stout and tunable, and at least it is available in the Fusion Sport (just not with a manual transmission).

My 2014 F150 is rated at 365hp and 420tq (2010-2016)
The same year/rage of the FLEX, SHO and other variants with transverse mounted engines use different turbos and are rated at 355-365hp/350tq (Transit is 320hp/400tq).

The Gen2 2.7 and 3.5 EB's (2017+) is where things go wild. The Gen2 3.5 is only available in the trucks 375hp/470tq (including Expedition), high output version is 450hp/510tq (including Raptor) and the Ford GT 647hp/550tq.

These motors have different turbos, higher compression, and the major change being the direct injection carryover will be backed up with port injection.

While we babble on about possible alternatives for his MS6 it seems that OP is missing in action.

FWIW, I love F-150s especially 4wd, but they are going to be heavier than my Q5 Quattro SUV (4350 lbs empty), and way heavier than an S4 Quattro which will be around 3900. It is going to be lb per bhp ratio, gearing, and awd vs rwd that affect straight line performance. 450-480 bhp will put an S4 in the 11s. I’m mid 12s (low 12s in cool weather) because of the weight. All with just pulley and tune.

is the SHO really worth looking into ?

i feel like they are cheap for what is offered and they are overlooked...

and as previously mentioned, the fusion sport?

the focus RS, was super popular for a bit, but i heard about the engine problem...

Great ideas. Are there any cross overs that would be close?

Yes there are. What budget range? That has a huge effect on choices.
