Default What are your favorite performance tires?

I'm getting close to needing some new BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 for my SRT-4, size 205/50ZR17.

People seem to rate these tires for about 15,000 to 20,000 miles before you need new ones, I'm on 25,000 miles, so I've done pretty well I think. I can probably push them to 30,000 with one more rotation.

The KDW's were the original equipment, I bought the car new, 12 miles on it. I have liked them to an extent but they are quite noisy, that's basically my only complaint about them. In corners they are very stable, they are great at high speeds (private roads only of course heh heh) and I have done well as far as mileage.

The 2003 SRT4 had Michelin Pilot Sports, but those run for like 175 bucks a piece, and I don't know a lot about them to be honest. They changed to the KDW's I think for the 2004 model year.

What tires do you guys like? Wouldn't mind hearing a few opinions before I make a purchase.

Hankook Ventus Z212's, Falken RT615's.

Avoid Toyo T1-R's, they suck.

Dude why the hell are you running 205's on a fwd car that powerful. You need to step up to at least 225's. Pilots are good tires. BF also makes a very good tire. Sport Compact Car did a HUGE street tire test last year or so, you might want to hit up there website and look for it on there. Address is sportcompactcarweb.com

Haha, i'm running 205's because I'm one of those rare bastards that actually has the stock tires on his car, still running strong at 26,000 miles woo hoo!!

Just an FYI, I bought the Yokohama S Drives, and they were just horrible as far as performance, WAY too much sidewall flex, very very unstable when cornering, horrible response, the only type of car I think they might be good for would maybe be a touring type, cadillac or slower BMW/Mercedes, but for a sports car they are just awful.

I about got into an accident with them and took them back after putting less than 100 miles on them, full refund and went back with a new set of the OE KDW-2's, couldn't be happier. I should have never gone away from them.

Do NOT buy the S Drive tires from Yokohama, unless you want to die in an accident.

Well, I have the Yokohama parada spec 2's and from my understanding they're not much different than the S Drive Yokohama's and I have nothing but praise for them. They're a bit loud but otherwise they've been stellar

Well, the S Drives are so far and away worse than my stock KDW's, they are quieter and softer, but to a fault, you can't feel the road, and under heavy braking, holy crap, my car slid at about a 20 degree angle sideways, scared the shit out of me. The spec 2's have to be a lot better, i hope heh heh.

I had a chance to run Yokohama Advan 032R's. I ran Kumho ASX's... garbage. I'd like to run some BF gForce Sports. See how they feel.
