@Cobb Tuning;

With David@COBB no longer working with you, will you still be implementing this?

The Mazdaspeed platform is evolving rapidly and there are several builds that are able to support a higher redline and components that will allow it.

This will only become more popular (as it already is) and common.

I think I can speak for the community when I say that having the appropriate RPM breakpoints is a vital control that is neccessary to properly tune beyond 7000 PRM.

Please let us know.

Not sure if this means anything, but i got a random call from cobb the other day asking how i liked my v3 and if i had any requests for future products or updates to the v3. I had mentioned this thread and he knew of it, he said this was still in the works and someone else had taken over this project. Id take this with a grain of salt, but hey, hopefully they are still working on it.

This is something that has been on the list for a little while. With David being gone, we have some new faces taking over the effort. There is a bit of learning curve coming from other platforms but they'll be up to speed fairly quickly.

We have a big project we're working on for Mazda and, hopefully, RPM scaling will be part of it.

I got in contact with Trey Cobb (owner of Cobb Tuning) and spoke with him on the subject.

I expressed the platforms requirement for such a control and the importance of it to us.

RPM Scaling is definitely on the list of things to do and has been given high priority.

It will take time but it will be done.

Cobb Tuning is definitely here for us.

Some of you may have seen me post about this in other threads but I thought that I might post it here so all are updated.

I have been in frequent contact with Cobb and the engineer assigned to develop Dynamic RPM Scaling with the ECU. This task is one of the higher priorities items on his plate of things to do.

Their plan is to incorporate RPM scaling for ALL tables exposed in AccessTuner that have RPM as an axis, not just specific ones.

To aid in this development and help speed up the process, I have offered to help test this new control on a dyno prior to its official release to ensure its functionality is 100%.

I know that many of you cannot wait for this control and neither can I.

However, this will take some time to do properly. As of right now, there is no precise time frame as to when development will begin but it should be soon.

I can tell you with confidence that Cobb knows we need this control and is aware of this platform's success and progress over the past year.

Thank you to everyone helping push the platform in every way possible.

I will update you guys here when their is progress.

This platform's future is very bright.

Just a little update:

About a month ago, I gave the Engineers at COBB a complete list of every table with an RPM axis that needs to be modified for appropriate tuning beyond 7000 RPM for all 8 ECU ROM's that exist as well as provided plenty feedback on how the ECU functions up there in the heavens of 8000 RPM.

They are currently working on several projects for the MS ECU but this one is coming first and is being worked on now.

I plan to fly out to COBB HQ in Austin, TX in 1 month to visit my good friend Evan@COBB and hopefully lend a hand!

This is NOT an easy development so have a little patience while they work on doing things right.

What VersaTuner did was change a global RPM lookup and that is why they can support up to 8000 RPM. However, this is dangerous practice as it is unknown how this will affect other various tables.

Remember, everything in our ECU is dynamically generated (aka "on the fly").

When you scale a load axis in AccessTuner, only the tables it effects are changed and none else. This is what allows it to work flawlessly and every other ECU functions remains untouched, thus works great.

This is the same plan for RPM adjustments.
