Default AP went through the wash

As the title says, my AP was in my pants pocket and they got tossed in the washing machine. Any suggestions before I buy a new one???

Toss it in a bowl of rice? Take it apart?

And to think I would bring the AP in the house for fear that the freezing weather would fuck it up.

I'm not very optimistic but any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.

wow! send it to cobb and tell them what happened, they might be able to fix it. obviously cost you money but probably less than buying new one!

My wife dropped her itouch in the toilet (empty..LOL) and it stopped working. We put it in rice for a few days and it kinda worked, then I updated the software and it completely worked again. I suppose you could try something similar? Good luck.

^ hahah

Don't turn it on or apply any power to it. Throw it in a bowl of rice and forget about using it for 1+ week... then you should be fine. If you already powered it tho, you might be fucked...

any chance of COBB looking down favorably upon you with freebie work would go out the window if you open the unit which would remove the ""warranty void if removed sticker""

If you can find a desiccanter big enough throw it in that. It works better than rice, but rice is a good second option.

That's what I was thinking. I'll keep it together.

Well, I guess I'll just toss it in some rice for now and then call up Cobb. Worst case scenario I get a few $K on 247.

Thanks for the tips everyone, except for beardy mcbeardface.

I didn't power it up at all, that's the only saving grace really.

I wanted to take it apart but I'm not sure if Cobb would do anything to it if I do.

Now that it works unmarry and sale it. Once you get the cash buy a used one elsewhere.

Electronics that get wet will not last long. Corrosion will begin and eventually short something out, best you don't do that while attached to the car.

So this could be a really really really really really really really really really long shot - but dump it in some distilled water. The water used for your washer, not to mention the detergent, has lots of minerals and those really fuck things up.

Distilled water is pure H20... could do some therapy, then stick it in rise to dry it and then perhaps life will be good.
