Default FYI - New AP FW 1.6.7.8-5608 out

FYI, plugged in my AP and it just pulled down an update. I didn't get release notes on the new update so I am not sure what changed or when it was released. Doesn't look like the maps updated, but the new graphics and colors are awesome!

Usually in my experience, when the on screen values aren't changing while logging, the log doesn't work.

Well, the logging still works. Everything shows up fine in the .csv file which is good. Boost still always shows -0.6 psi on the screen though.

UPDATE:

Logs dont work if the live data monitor is set to boost. File size shows n/a and cant export to computer.

However, if monitoring anything else, the logs are fine.

Guys, I changed the min/maxes, and it looks like one of them is being problematic. I'll work on a fix ASAP.

Thanks,

@BT2010speed; and I noticed the same exact thing.
I have a 2010 MS3, he has 2012 MS3
I took a log, but the csv file showed N/A for the file size and I could not export it from the AP
Will try to pull another log tomorrow

I'm also not a fan of the newbackground in the menu/monitoring area

AP "about" / "AcessPORT Info" screen shows Firmware 1.6.7.0-5608

That has happened to me a few times. I think it has something to do with the obd2 cable loses connection on one end for a split second. Can't say for certain but it seems like it's that.

Before update I saw between -10 and -8 psi during idle, and would spike down to -12 during gear changes
Now the stock boost gauge registers more vacuum then the AP

Oops didn't see you mentioned the boost problem. I was referring to the N/A files, it has happened to me every once in awhile.

I see this too. Boost now shows to tenths which is awesome, but doesn't show vacuum anymore.

Did Cobb give up on release notes? The last release notes I can find for the AP firmware are from 12/18/12 V1.6.7.0-5110, both on the AP and on the website. That ain't cool...

@Evan@COBB @David@COBB
I have ATR installed on 2 computers
the release notes and updates were available one one computer, but now I have my AP plugged into my other computer its saying its up to date, and ATR on the 2nd machine wont update either

When I get my other computer tomorrow (left at work) I'll look at the notes sine I was too busy at work to finish reading them before I ran the update

not real happy that the boost function doesn't read vacuum anymore. I do like the new design though

Not sure what happened to the vacuum readings.

As soon as I'm back at the office this morning Ill figure out what's going on.

I depend on the vacuum to make sure all things are healthy with the motor. Vacuum starts getting less and less over time and you know you gotta problem.

I've posted a fix, but for right now it'll be on our BETA server.

Just click the "Check for Beta Firmware" in APM, and hopefully it should give you and update prompt.

The new firmware is: 1.6.7.0-5689.

Let me know if this fixes the issue, and either tomorrow or soon after we'll hopefully put it into the normal update spot as well.

Thanks,

-David@COBB

I got the update but no release notes show up for beta I guess.

Willing to try it tonight.

5689 from the beta channel was perfectly behaved, indicating boost & vacuum as expected and logging while displaying any parameter other than boost, logging while displaying boost and logging while displaying another parameter than changing the display to boost all worked fine for me.

It would be nice if y'all would update the change log tho....

Do like the new graphics, and find the red to be more visible when navigating menus.

Thanks!

Of the live monitor changes, there is unified precision between Gen1/Gen2 on Boost, Fuel Inj. Amount, Int Adv, LTFT, STFT. (Out to the tenth's)

There is a lot of under the hood changes to make the rest of the firmware more robust, but most of those we don't really publish.

Thanks,

-David@COBB

Ya, now the new graphics are just burning an image over where the old graphics used to be. It just needs one line of code.

If OBD OUTPUT = 0 for > 30, SCREEN = OFF

I mean my $150 POS scangauge has this feature, you'd think the $500 AP would as well. We need to start a petition or something, I know all the subbie people feel the same way.

Yes please add this, it's a pain to take it off the mount and unplug every time. I like the new graphics though.

Cut that cable open, use a multimeter to find out what line carries power, run that line to a fuse that comes on in acc only, and shuts off with the car.

Thats pretty awesome. Why didn't i think of that?

But having Cobb add this function would be great.

Just a heads up, it happened to me twice with the latest beta; It starts logging, when i finish the log the screen would show signs of reading for a bit and then it will resume, though this logs aren't being saved properly in the AP

I like the new UI look, looking forward the next revision of the firmware.

My logs are incomplete with FW 5689. The beginning of the logs are cut off and there are no headers. I have contacted Dave directly about this. Anyone else experience the same?

Any time I try to upload a map to the AP now I get a "locked to SN 2810" error message when I try to flash it to the car. May just be circumstantial it came after this update, but any help would be appreciated nonetheless. Thanks.

You're uploading a MAP made with a different serial number ATR. This is not related.
