Just got my Cobb AP - ATR? I just received the Cobb AP that is married to my ms6 from the previous owner. I've searched for ATR almost everywhere, and I know this might be a retarded question, but where the fuck do I download this software? I know Cobb has it available for dealers, but theres got to a be download for this shit. The link here - http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...ownload-33692/ - from Hal failed on me after almost completion saying "Error Loading Communication Module". Am I missing something here? Also on a side note, I've noticed the previous owner had 5 tunes loaded onto the AP. Of those 5 they all have the mods for the vehicle listed, however, I believe he told me they were all OTS from Cobb. Are OTS tunes not available for brands such as CP-E, JBR, etc as they are listed in the AP under the loaded tunes. I do plan on getting this custom tuned, but at this time I'm just trying to get more familiar with the hardware/software. Thanks guys |
cobb has pulled it to do "updates" it is supposed to be available next month. suckkkkks |
ATR isnt available for hell maybe a few months. maybe someone can copy over the current version for you to download before they took it off their site. The 5 tunes you talk about are just maps that come with the accessport. They are basic tunes. I would get a custom tune ASAP more tailored for your car and mods. I personally dont mess with ATR because I have not sat down to look through the guide on how to use it yet. Youre in better hands with an experienced tuner. I dont see HPFP internals in your sig. Get those before moving on |

In terms of the HPFP, absolutely. I'm funding for them next paycheck. I've been logging and havent seen the fuel rail pressure drop below 1750psi, so, hopefully I'm holding out til then. Thanks! |
Each copy of ATR is tied to the serial number of the owner's AP. You won't be able to use someone else's copy of ATR. |
Have to go through a Cobb Pro-Tuner licensed tuner or you're fucked. |
im in the same boat, i called and they said s o l unless i call a protunner. |
I posted on FB warning all my MS3/6 friends to request it before they public the request form, sucks but I think everyone without ATR is screwed until July |

I was hoping to just find the install for the ATR someone but damn... That blows |
It does blow. I think today, June 9, was the original date they had listed for it's return, then promptly bumped it back to July. It would be a pleasant surprise if it did return(and not too diminished) next month, but I'm not counting on it. |
Only certain versions are tied to a serial number. I have copies for the second gen that can be installed by anyone. Unfortunately, that doesn't help here. |

In all seriousness, thank you. Guess the rest of us will have to wait. Anyone out there have an MS6 install?? :) |
1 Attachment(s) Attached ATR for Mazdaspeed6, but don't think it'll work for you with a different serial number. Try it & let us know! ATR Version - 1.9.1.0-11650 Build date - Dec 30 2015 Last full ATR version prior to Cobb retooling ATR which was pulled from the Cobb website end of May 2016 |

For the time being, it'll be nice to get familiar with the software until Cobb releases the new version. Thanks for saving the day :wavey: |
No prob. |

I took one of the maps the previous owner loaded onto the AP (not the one currently on the ECU of the car), and went to just edit some parameters, such as LC. I first saved it to the computer, loaded into ATR, edited the table #, saved it, loaded back on to the AccessPORT Manager. When I go to the ECU, it's locked to serial number 399? All I did was copy it off the AP onto my PC, edit the value, save it as a new map (retaining the old one), and load it back on to the AP. Am I doing something wrong? Or can I not save it as a new map? I linked the AP with the install of the ATR setup you gave me, so it should match the same married device on the ECU. |
I believe my AP V2's serial # ended in 399. Not sure what to tell you beyond that. |
Quote:
Yep... Says locked to #399 . Odd though because it synchronized with my AP during the install. |
That's what we've been telling folks all along- it's not about being able to install ATR on your PC, it's that the license.ini file that comes with the ATR install will lock maps to the serial number provided when the original request was placed with Cobb. You can play with the software, but any map you saved will be locked to that other serial number and be grayed out on your AP. |
Just when Cobb couldn't be less supportive of the platform they do this, SMH. Of all the things to keep on schedule, this is one they should've stayed true to their word with. |
I'll have to ask a few of the people i've sent it to/who have downloaded it, if it's working for them. I haven't had anyone come back and say their maps were locked. But then again, I don't know if anyone who i've sent it to is using it for anything more than to just look at a map, and not try to actually edit/save/flash. |

Regardless, I appreciate your input. Guess we just have to wait for Cobb to hurry their ass up on this! Would you normally just "add to cart" on their website, or email them requesting the software when it is available? Quote:
|
Yup- they had a request form and one of the required items was the serial number of the AP. Then an hour or two later they would send you an email with the download link. |
I bought a used AP because I needed it to disable the EGR code so I could pass emissions this month. In the time it took for USPS to deliver it, Cobb pulled ATR. The wonderful timing that is my life :fuckyou: But $200 later, I'm currently working on a FreekTune with Justin. So I resent Cobb for the unexpected expenses...But I'm much happier with the results. |

Until I get around to actually affording it, I unfortunately have to stick with the OTS ones for now :( |
You could get the OTS+ from Freektune for around $75. sent from my Nexus 6P |

Fuck Cobb. That is all. |
We should have a PSA sticky in all the forums IMO advising people who actually want to tune their cars to avoid the Cobb AP until further notice. |
Yes please. Cobb needs to be avoided at all costs imho |
Just sat in a meeting this morning, we're looking good for a late July re-release of ATR. I know it sucks not having it right now, but it is temporary. And, all previous versions of ATR still work, we haven't "de-activated" any existing copies. Also, all our CSR guys are super bummed about it and they know making customers unhappy isn't any fun. It's pretty brutal when they get yelled at and cussed at for something we have to do and something we already know makes people unhappy. We're all car people here and I promise you we're working our asses off to get ATR back available again. Ian |

You have ONE shot at possible redemption, get it released by late July lime you stated. No other strings attached (ie, it now costs money). |
Not to mention what if it will no longer allow disabling DTC's or something such as that. Not a large deal breaker in my book but I am sure some people will be displeased for sure. |
