Yeah I know what you mean, but my MS3 isn't exactly a poster child for all-out speed (in the world of Speeds, anyway)...

The ND may be a bit slower, but it's no slouch for only having 155 hp, it easily out-handles my (some might say "significantly set up") MS3 bone stock, and is engaging in ways quite different than the MS3 is.

It is a really, really good car.

I read somewhere that it's actually faster than the new v6 camaro in 0-60. Lol.

I'd have to disagree with the week-end fast daily slow car thesis.
I think it is all based on age.

When you get old, and drive an S class AMG Mercedes to work every day, as I am sure some here like Dano and Predapio do because they are recalcitrant and like to OD on Viagra, then you have a small convertible to drive on the week ends when you are feeling ghey.

When you are young, you drive a piece of shit all week and have all your money tied into a Unicorn that sits in your garage. This individual dreams of being a pussy magnet and ripping records at the drag strip, but as is often the case, ends up masturbating and bankrupt instead.

TLDR Nintendo is old and ready to join Dano and Predapio in their prey for minors in playgrounds so watch your children.

Stock for stock inwould be surprised if there was a track in the world a miata was faster around than a ms3. But that's not really the point of a miata is it? If we just wanted to be fast we would all be driving z06 s.

I don't know how true that statement is and I'm not about start looking at track times to find out... but take a miata and an ms3 on a canon road and see who wins.

And the z06 is obviously fast in a straight and on the track

I read somewhere that the seat will not just move back and forth with the lever thingy but also lift up as you move the seat forward for the shorter people. I tried this and i didnt notice the height change. So is this not true or was i suppose to do something different?

I'm pretty sure you'd be surprised then. Look up track times, or just go to a hpde day. Chances are a Miata will be there and blow by you. From personal experience I can tell you a stock Miata is faster around at least one track than a mildly modified ms3. Miatas may be slow in a straight line, but they're referred to as momentum cars because once they get up to speed, they're quite fast around most tracks. I think that's exactly the point of a Miata. I'm pretty sure they are the most commonly tracked/raced car in the world for a reason.

By the way, I've passed more than a couple z06s on track... possibly due to driver mod... possibly tires... maybe just too much power on a light rear end to carry high corner speed... Either way, food for thought.

In the hands of the same driver, or even similarly skilled drivers, the ms3 will be faster around just about everything.
Not gonna lie, the Miata is likely more fun, and the older ones at least, a shit tonne more reliable.

That's pretty cool that they compared so many cars. I don't think VIR is setup to benefit momentum cars as much as higher horsepower, less capable handling cars. Are there other similar comparisons at different tracks?

I was talking to a guy with a stock miata one day at roebling road. At the time, my only handling mod was a rsb. We ended up starting a couple sessions in front of one another. I'd fly by (or catch up to) him on the straights and then he'd pass me (or pull away) in the back corners. We were both on street tires, but mine were less capable pilot a/s 3s.

I'm not a huge miata fan, but I've seen what they can do on a track that suits their strengths.

3:18.6 SUBARU BRZ, and the ND MX5 is considerably quicker in every way over the BRZ. Do not be fooled by release year, base model NC MX5 times.

Despite driving very differently, very similar lap times. After watching these videos, I believe we can all agree which is the better, the faster, and has the most potential for a weekend car I am sure.
