Tooting my own horn - Not

Hi;

I've been lurking for a little while. I have a 09 CX-7 GT AWD with 130000KM.

It was my DD, but since I got rid of my Honda mini van, and got a leased ford explorer ltd through work, it has become my wife DD.

I had issues with the horn working, not working, sounding like shit.

i just finished looking in the How to section, but did not see anything about replacing the horn. I don't know if each year, the horn is placed in the same area, but the dealer said the horn is drivers wheel well and the bumper. I am under the impression that i will have to remove one or the other, perhaps even both.

in order to save time and i do not need to place it back where the original one is. I know the fuse box has a horn fuse under the hood on the drives side and a square on on the passenger side.

Does anyone know how or which side wires can be cut and a new horn wires be connected to. why can't the wires of the new horn be connected to the wires cut from the fuse box and expect the horn to work.

Theoretically, assuming I cut the correct wire, I can splice the wire with the new horn and mount it some where else under the hood, and leave the old non working one where it is.

Like installing a light fixture. black to black. White to white and green for ground.

The dealer is right.
I think you can get away with only removing the wheel well and the oil sump cover/skid plate. But if you're not sure pay someone else do it and only look and learn.

Now pull the turbo from your cx7 and fit it into your miata.

Tapping a new horn into the fuse box is fucking retarded. It would be easier to fix it right. Stop being lazy. No one here knows how to do what you are asking, because none of us would ever do that. We are car enthusiasts. We aren't about rigging shit up half assed.
