| Not Ranked : 0 score My goal is to hit 400+ whp, reliably, with minimal clutter inside the car. Next mods on the list are a PNP intake mani.... well thats it after that i want to get a BT, turbo manifold, and larger intake. I just don't want to have gauges everywhere inside my car. I have my ap mounted so i can do some monitoring with that, im not opposed to a dashhawk either. My car looks bone stock aside from my ap and mounted radar detector, i would really like to remain the somewhat sleeper status. Also, im not a tuner, i will hit up the perm guys again when i go BT, do i really NEED an ewg? I can see shelling out some cash for the ebcs but i really am not that familiar with how much of a difference going to a larger ewg would make. One more thing, still have the stock exhaust. I know its not restricting me much now but do i def need to upgrade it if im looking for 400? I want all this to happen pretty soon, getting a second pt job for a car fund, lol. Once i get my intake manifold ill be hitting you up to get started. Can you pm me an idea of what all I can buy from you and a ballpark on what the cost will be? Thanks in advance!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score @thatsmrgimp2u Your cpe dp will work 100% with a gtx series turbo. Now if you decide to get a ewg hotside with it you will need a low profile 90* to get it to fit without problems. As far as making 400 with the stock manifold you will have no problems doing that with about 22-24psi. You can make that power on an iwg setup. IMO an aftermarket exhaust will definitely help you to get to 400 but I think its very doable on the stocker. e85 also would help or meth |

EBCS (electronic boost control solenoid) regulates your boost levels and boost control. EWG (external wastegate) is a different type of wastegate setup than IWG (internal wastegate). The Bolt-on ATP Kits are all IWG. The EWG kit we sell on the website is what Eric is telling you about. It reuses the same type of downpipe that a stock turbo uses but moves the wastegate to the outside of the turbo. I think you were asking if you NEED to go EWG to get what you want? The answer is no and if you are trying to keep things as close to stock as possible, you should go with IWG bolt on kit. The EWG is loud and a totally different setup than stock. Maybe you already knew this, just wanted to make sure you were clear. Ask any other questions you have. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score No i'm talking about the heater line that goes right by the tip. You'll need some 5/8" heater house and a 5/8" hose mender so that you have enough room.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm falling in love with big turbos. The spool on this gt3076 is soooo much better then I would have thought. Easily starts boosting below 3000rpms. Such an easy install, a couple headaches a long the way. Cheap, easy, and reliable power.

My advice is go with something a little bigger so you have the option of more power down the road. If you are looking for a solid 350whp then stick with the 28 series turbo.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So is the 2871 even considered a BT for our car? You said earlier that it was designed for smaller (ie: 2.0L and below) engines. Also someone in the last couple pages was looking for a direct replacement for a blown K04, what was your recommendation to that?

| Not Ranked : 0 score My question on EWG is, where does the pipe off the ewg go to? Im probably going gtx3071r in the summer and wanna go ewg. Debating if i wanna go hotside or on the manifold still. I know you can run a wastegate to dump to atmosphere, otherwise not sure if its like a dump pipe to dp and have someone weld it on there. If someone could point my bt noob self to thread that discusses wastegates that would be awesome. Could @eric@edgeautosport or @JP@edgeautosport.com pm me a quote for a ewg on hotside with stock mani including everything and a quote for steedspeed with ewg on the gtx3071r |

I will admit I was a little lost when doing my first swap but once you get going on it, its actually a ton of fun if you enjoy wrenching on cars.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Eric do you have any pictures or anything of your old setup? It dumps right below the turbo around the power steering lines but I don't know exactly where it's pointed. You can move it around as necessary and even if you don't need one of the 90* elbows to fit the downpipe, you might want to get one anyway to have more flexibility of where you can point the dump tube. Here are the elbows I'm talking about. You attach one of these to the actual turbine housing EWG inlet and the the wastegate attaches to the other side. We thought of this originally for clearing the CPE style downpipe but you can also use them to just reroute or move the dump pipe to a slightly different exit location. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score @dantes5823 The ewg dump pipe directly points to your front frame area right next to your cv boot and right past the ac lines on the bottom side of the firewall. If you wanted you could have someone custom fab it and re-route it into your dp but that would be fairly expensive and over more of a hassle. The clearance of the dump pipe is acutally really awesome and most of the exhaust gases are pushed out from the bottom of the car but some do get on the frame. You cant really tell because the frame is black anyways. I do have pictures of my old setup but none that show where my dump tube is going. |
