Seems like a lot for only 500hp. I am sure it can handle a lot more. Your build is what I like to see there is a ton of information and pics. Thanks for sharing your build. I look forward to see what else you are going to do with her. Good luck

Well dyno is done it was 75* in the shop and I'm very satisfied with the final numbers.

Default England15j's SP63 10.6:1 CR GTX3071 Build

3 pulls were in 4th and the final was a 5th all were within 5hp/trq from one another. I just had them print the 5th pull since it was on the screen at the time.

You went to Tork for the dyno? Obviously he must of charged you $150 for 2 pulls or try to sell you windshield washer enhancer that is good for an additional 60hp, right?

Looks like you are getting pretty close. The majority of my miles were at 460hp. How was the consistency across the 4th gear pulls? You could probably email John and have him send you the dyno files.

Default England15j's SP63 10.6:1 CR GTX3071 Build

We did a total of 5 pulls and all had boost and afr's and he didn't charge me for anything.

The 2 good 4th's and the 5th all lined up almost perfectly with one another. The car has been very consistent with its power numbers so far

I'll have to email him for the files. I forgot to ask him to datalog the pulls on the AP given the dyno was free I didn't want to ask too much.

I'll be on the CS dyno next month for the Nator OR meet

Engine update.
Just completed the 2nd official oil change post break-in @7300 total on the new motor and completed a compression test. Only thing unusual is the OCC only had about 1oz of fluid.

The top of #2 looked wet while the others looked dry.

Small update.

Engine is a full year old and has 9k miles without any issues and revisited the dyno again in November where it made 481whp

I picked up a 95 Miata back I March and have spent most of my time and money in that trying to keep miles off the speed since my work requires me to make frequent short trips I didn't like driving it so much not ever getting the engine to temp.

Only changes made have been swapping out the CS BPV for a GFB dual port.

Small update. The car is running perfectly, it just passed 10k on the motor and everything is perfect.

Took the car to a scale today with 1/2 tank and no occupant and I was a bit surprised by the outcome.

I asked speedperformance about going to a 10:1 ratio but they advised I stick with stock compression. I'm kinda going for a budget, reliable build. Stage 1 motor. with 4032 pistons good up to what they claim 425hp. Is there any inherent risks of a higher compression? I guess I'm not sure why they would discourage it...

I think @phate; would give you his two cents on high compression

Personally I love the idea of it since I'm do a lot of off or low boost driving so it'd probably make things more enjoyable for me.

The stroke and bore of this engine was designed with under 10:1 compression in mind. Only going from 9.5 to 10.6:1 already requires higher octane fuel to get more power. Otherwise in closed loop the engine will be a bit more efficient but not by much, not even significantly.
