Default Fonsi's Mazdaspeed3 Gen2

I bought my Mazdaspeed 3 on the 27. of march in 2013. The seller is a Mazda dealer, which is about 330km away from my home.

Dates:
first registration 02/2012
mileage when purchasing: 9700 km
black
BOSE, Bi-Xenon headlights, Keyless Entry & Start
Navigation system
(full equipped )

Some pictures at the day of purchase. Looks like any other stock MS3 Gen2. except the radiator grill, which was painted black by the previous owner. The "MPS" logo (its a Mazda 3 MPS in Germany) was deleted, too.

The first foto shoot:

At the end of april I changed the red rear fog light against the black one from the japanese version. I've also installed a GFB [lexicon]BOV[/lexicon] which is at the moment adjusted to about 20% open:

A short time after, I got two stone chips on the windscreen. The windscreen was replaced completely.

In may, I threw out the orange bulbs at the front and the rear. The installation of the chrome coloured bulbs was terrible, as you can only install them through the wheelhouse

In June, I installed a racepipe and a catback. Some pics from the installation:

(the pipes are not aligned yet on the pictures)

In July 2013, I've used PlastiDip to spray the mazda logos, badges and the surrounding of the front fog lights. The rear mazda logo is selfmade

September. H&R coilovers were installed:

A week ago, I've installed a CorkSport TIP and a Simota filter mat (in a modded airbox).

Currently, I'm driving my MS3 on winter tires (Nokian WR A3 in 225/40 R18) on dipped OEM rims:

Unfortunately, I have no better pictures of the dipped rims as there are currently only the two rims on the driver side dipped . I'm going to dip the two on the passenger side the next saturday.

Since yesterday, there's a Hypertech software on my ECU .

Ask and ye shall receive! Woot! I just purchased the H&R coilovers (to be installed Saturday). Just as a starting point - how'd you set them up? (How many threads or the measurement below the lock rings).

And she looks good, thus far.

Sorry, I have no idea . To be on the safe side, my Mazda dealer installed the coilovers for me. It had to be installed 100% correct for my daily driver and concerning coilovers, I'm a bit inexperienced . So I took it to my dealer.

Intake, racepipe, and tuned, yet no HPFP internals...

Your playing with fire right now.

I hope you have some way of monitoring what's going on with your engine.

Sure! I transformed my old Samsung Galaxy S2 into a small "dashboard" with Torque Pro. Internals are the next part to come on my to do list.

I wish I found a dealership that accommodating. The dealerships around here look at me funny - then refuse to install any non-Mazda part.

@Fonsi; The HPFP internal shouldn't be your next thing you might get. It is something you NEED to get RIGHT NOW or you risk blowing the engine.

What if my oem internal keeps the pressure? Don't you think this is worth finding out?

Some "log drives" at currently 4 degrees outside temperature should give an indication.

That's the problem. The stock internals give you hope. The pressure could hold fine but when your in WOT the pressure is likely to drop and that can be catastrophic to the engine. It only takes one time to blow.

Wrong thought process when it comes to your internals, man. When in WOT the pressure drop could be so sudden you might not even recognize it happening. Internals work until they don't and when they stop, you're in a shit hole. $350 right now vs. $3000 to replace your engine...your car, do what you want but I wouldn't leave it to chance like that. You said this is your DD, why risk something that could be fixed in a heart beat?

Looks good though! you should donate! best mod you'll ever get.

You're right! I ordered new internals today. Until they're installed, I will drive carefully and avoid WOT or high rpms.

What do you mean by "best mod you'll ever get"?

Haha just a saying man...donating opens a lot of things up for you on the forums...for instance the for sale section.

@vrspeed10, they're adjustable ramps. I purchased them on eBay Germany:
PKW - Auffahrrampen, höhenverstellbar, bis 225er NEU | eBay

They were 150 euros, though I'm not sure if I can use them since my H&R coilovers were installed .

Those ramps are really heavy. I dont know if the dealer will ship them internationally.

I'm currently considering which HPFP internals i should buy.
There's a german manufacturer called HG Motorsport or should I import the Autotech internals?!

I would go with Autotechs! I've been running them close to 10k and have had no problems.

I thought about them, but there are not enough long-term experiences with the corksport internals. I will install the HG Motorsport internals.

You're in Germany, so might as well try a german company for the internals. After all the Autotech's are for VW's and Audis. How much do the HG internals cost?

The HG internals are driven by VWs and Audis in Germany too.
There was a bulk order, so I got the HG's for 319 euros which is about 433 dollars.

I guess Autotechs shipped would cost the same. Let us know how it goes with install.

The Autotechs will be more expensive, as I have to pay customs duty when importing them. The HG's should arrive at the end of the next week, I will install them as soon as possible.

HG HPFP internals are installed since yesterday. Installation took me about 3 hours, as I removed airbox, battery and battery housing to have enough space around. The car seems to run much smoother now.

Nothing happened here the last few months. But that doesn't mean nothing happened to my MS3.

I installed a Short Shift Plate and Shifter Bushings. In March 2015, the COBB Downpipe came in. A CorkSport Stage 2 SRI (with modded Airbox) came in together with a BNR S1, CS Boost Tubes and a CS TMIC which all together is tuned by Stratified.

I installed a CorkSport Oil Catch Can together with COBB Exhaust Hangers.

The strut is now black matte powder coated.

Some pics and my spec list at the moment:

Engine, Exhaust & Transmission
- CorkSport Stage II SRI
- BNR S1
- CorkSport Boost Tubes
- CorkSport Top Mount Intercooler
- GFB BOV
- CorkSport Bypass Valve Hose
- insulating mats delete
- COBB AccessPort (tuned by Stratified)
- HG HPFP Internals
- EGR Block Off
- CorkSport Oil Catch Can
- GrimmSpeed EBCS
- 3" COBB Downpipe
- 3" VAST Catback
- CorkSport Race RMM
- MME Short Shift Plate

Suspension, Tires & Brakes
- H&R Monotube coilovers
- Tanabe strut (black matte)
- Sparco Assetto Gara 8x18, 225/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 (summer)
- OEM Gen2 rims (green) 7.5x18, 225/40 Nokian WR A3 (winter)
- black RAYS lug nuts

Exterior
- black Mazda emblems
- black front grille without MPS emblem
- green brake calipers
- black exhaust pipes
- black/white rear fog light
- some green decals

Interior
- new steering wheel
- black interior

I also bought a Mazdaspeed 6 with an engine damage in February 2015. At the moment, the car is getting stripped at my workshop. The plans are: a lightweight big turbo street monster. I'll open up a separate thread with my Speed6 build.

Some updates here...

My tune from Stratified is finished. I'm totally satisfied. @Lex did a great job!
I'm gonna remove the CorkSport OCC today as I think the rubber / oil smell comes from the OCC routing. I'll going with a JBR catch can soon.

Running a JBR CC and haven't had any problems. People seem to really like the Damond Motorsports Oil CC as well. Keep up the good work.

I removed the OCC last weekend. The rubber / oil smell could have two reasons now:

1) The occ was more than full . Within the first 4 weeks there was nearly nothing into the catch can. After 6 more weeks the occ was full of oil crap. What happens if the occ is more than full? Is it possible that the vacuum of the CorkSport routing is pulling the oil crap into the inlet pipe if the occ is full?

2) The oil return line from the turbo to the engine is / was leaking. There was some oil dripping down the return line to the oil pan. I've tighten the bolts of the oil return into the turbo about a quarter turn and will check it tomorrow for further leaks. If its still leaking, maybe the should be renewed and / or the bolts need some kind of sealant.

The brand of occ shouldn't matter. If you empty the corksport and get the lines tightened up you should be fine.

Also I am really jealous of those ramps.

Not directly. But the CorkSport routing is different from all the others since it includes the cam case breather which is according to the Damond Motorsports blog not optimal.
I'll install the JBR OCC and leave the cam case breather stock.
