(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Alright, so I didn't have much time to put this up on here because of how much I work but now I have all the time in the world and I'll be bored so I may as well document it here. My foot ended up getting crushed under a few thousand pounds and now I have two fractures in my foot so who knows how long I'll be bumming it up. Now, for those of you who didn't know, I was on a base map on an HTA3576 and bent a rod. Decided to go for a built engine and upgrade the remaining pieces that I have left. Looking for probably hitting 500whp at the most. Here's what my build looks like right now: SP63 Built Long Block - 10.6 CR pistons, ported head HTA3576 w/ ATP hotside CoolingMist Autolearn WMI (Dual 7GPH nozzles?) ACT 6 Puck + Streetlite Flywheel TR8 FMIC HTP 4" Intake UR Catted Downpipe/Resonated RP CPE Triton Catback That's the bulk of it. I'm looking forward to it as long as my foot heals up enough by the time I'm supposed to pull my engine and swap them out. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I got away relatively unscathed for what happened at least. My foot was just suuuuper bruised and swollen for a few weeks. It's almost back to looking normal again actually. On a side note that I didn't get to mention in this thread, the manufacturer that does that pistons for SP63 now fucked up my pistons so it's going to take them another 2 weeks to remake my pistons because they made mine .005" out of spec after I already had a 4 week lead time for them to get done initially. Good times. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I assumed he was asking for pics of your build (or maybe tear down) to this point. Was it your accelerator foot?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, it was my right foot. I didn't get to start the breakdown yet but I'll be doing it in the near future. I was in a walking boot pretty much exclusively up until maybe a week ago so I haven't been able to work on my car yet. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Good news is that I went to my Orthopedic doctor today and I don't have to go in for another x-ray/appointment for another month. So even though I'm getting kinda screwed by the vendor for the pistons currently, I still have plenty of time to get all of this done at this rate. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score why 4" intake? I see a lot of people go with 4" on big power builds but I think 500 can be had with a 3.5"? only reason why I ask bc I hear 4" is a pain to tune and has drivability issues

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score No specific reason aside from I just wanted the turbo to breathe as much as possible. For the time that I was driving with the 4" intake on I didn't have any drivability issues as far as I could tell though. Last edited by broda; 09-15-2016 at 06:33 PM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I run a 4 in with no issues. I think that may be because I upped my idle to 1000 rpms. But with the 4 in, now I'm ready for any upgrades :-)

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'm getting so much pushback from my girlfriend and my dad about doing the swap myself and it's somewhat aggravating. I have almost another month of workers comp so it's not like I'm busy. It's not like I have to rush through it or anything. My desire to pay upwards of $1000 to get it installed when I can do it myself is literally non-existent. I feel like as long as you're organized and patient then it's not bad, especially when I have literally all the time in the world to do it. Hey, if either of them want to give me a grand for someone else to do then they can be my guest. I won't complain. Last edited by broda; 09-27-2016 at 11:23 AM. |

| Just don't get yourself into trouble with the law/insurance company by doing a bunch of work when you're supposed to be "disabled."

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'll try my best. The real reason I actually meant to post but forgot, they pistons came in last Friday and my engine will be done this Friday. Feels good. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I helped a friend do an engine swap over a 3 week span. Things went relatively smoothly but we could only work nights after we were both off and weekends when he wasn't working so it took a while. Then there's the time a group of us blitzed 2 engine removals, one reinstall, and cleanup in 9 hours. So that's your extremes. Definitely be careful with the insurance issue and have help whenever possible just to make things easy, but I'd go for it.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I just got quoted $95/hour at 19 hours for the performance shop that's a stones throw away from me. That's even without inquiring about the clutch change. No thank you. |
