(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yea some sucky progress. 50 miles into it the cyl 3 rod bearing decided to shit itself. Still tearing down to see what happened. One huge thing I noticed after pulling the spark plugs was that the ceramic part on top of the plugs were cracked all the way down. EVERY SINGLE PLUG, which screams mishandled to me but I babied them quite a bit so I can not say what happened.The whole build was assembled by me so that may be the issue but I was very OCD about specs, measurements, cleanliness, etc. I washed all parts until my fingers were blistered. I am putting together a parts list to rebuild and started breaking it down this week. Hopefully I will have it back up and running in a couple of weeks. I am going to take a week off from the build because I am expecting my second kid this week. One last side note, 4 manley h-beam rods with bolts = $360 BUT 1 manley rod and new bolts for the other 3 = $393 (quote from Edge AutoSports). Looks like 3 good manley rods and 1 black one will be up for sale soon LOL. Im just going to have to order a new set of 4.Ill post some pictures later when I get a chance.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Found the problem and there is no one to blame but myself. Thankfully tokay caught it quick in another thread. I installed the rod cap backwards like an idiot. So Wednesday I'll finish the break down and clean up then start the rebuild process. I was so worried about other things that I smooth glazed over that part of the install I guess. Picture of butchered bearing next to a good bearing.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well good news, I sourced the rod bolts after comparing specs on ARP site. If anyone needs to order new rod bolts the part number is 200-6207. I should have all of my parts ordered this week and start the rebuild next week.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I had a couple of free minutes this morning so that's a perfect time to update the tread. Car is running good and is at 550 miles (it's taking forever to hit 1000). I started working on rerouting my cold pipe and radiator hose for the newest addition. I will be installing this week a Snow Performance Stage 2 kit with a MD throttle plate (cooling and octane boost) as well as a Kozmic 5th/6th port kit (for fueling). I'm also in the process of breaking in new MD side mounts and cleaning up the install of the AEM AFR/boost failsafe gauge. Pictures to come soon.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Getting ready for some extra fuel. Kozmic 5th/6th port kit and Snow Performance nozzle #6 . I had a local welder tig the boss onto my already existing cold pipe I was able to basically turn the whole cold pipe backwards which moved the BPV closer to the intercooler quite a bit, and after reversing the radiator hose ends I am completely clear of that also I'm pretty satisfied with the way the piping ended up. Installed pictures should be posted this weekend or shortly after.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Started the installation process today. Got the meth lines safely ran and tied up. All the intercooler piping rerouted. And started the wiring. Also not shown is a short box style structure I made to protect the meth tank and pump from objects that will get thrown in the hatch. | Not Ranked : 0 score why are you running 5th port + meth ? Do you not have an E85 station handy? I personally would love to dump my WMI but don't want to spend the money/time/effort to get a 5th port up an running.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Figured it couldn't hurt. I already had the meth kit when I found a good deal on the 6th port. Meth will be backup, cooling, and octane boost. We bought the wife a new CX-9 so I migrated over to driving our Kia Sportage as a daily.
