Default Z's nothing special engine build

Well about a month ago my engine decided to shit itself. It was not that cold and i went on a on ramp and did a 2nd 3rd wot and around 6k rpm the engine sputtered and started making a loud knocking sound, no holes in the block thankfully. Towed it home and just parked it. Did measure piston height today and concluded that #3 was sitting about a half inch lower than #2 so i guess that means bent rod. Weird thing to me is that i had absolutely no clutch vibes or anything.
Mods on the car at this time are GT2876 running e85 and 100% meth. All this happened at about 45k miles.

Now onto the build that im planning.

Firs of all i don't know shit about building engines and i still need to to a lot of research so any knowledge is welcomed here. My plan is to just keep the 2876 and see what it can make. As for the engine i want to have something that can take 500whp without any issues.

Parts list

Manley H-beam rods

Manley platinum series pistons 88mm

Edgeautosport stage 3 motor build kit
- OEM main bearings
- Clevite h series rod bearings
- Cometic head gasket
- new vvt
- OEM main studs

Freek's H11 head studs

PERM PVC plate

Corksport injector seals

ACT 6 puck clutch prolite or streetlite flywheel

I'll add on parts if i have forgot anything but i think that should do it so far. Still need to take the engine out of the car and find a local machine shop to send it to.

You should buy the Corksport/Tokay injector seals instead of the CP-e seals.

Use an OEM head gasket, the off the shelf Cometics are a known fail. No reason not to use the OEM rod bearings either as they are a tad softer than Clevites if the car is daily driven.

Is that a 2876 or a 2867? I know I could look it up.....

What's the benefit over the 3076?

As far as clutch vibes, did you just barely put your foot on the clutch petal? Mine felt like I hit the brakes with full ABS and my rod wasn't bent very much

I wouldn't try to build your own motor if you've never done one before. If you have a local group that has the skilz and will help you can go that route but its a lot of work and has to be done right or you'll just be throwing away money.

Find a local builder with a good reputation and get them to put together a long block for you. Dropping in a long block isn't hard so you can save money on the install.

2876, maybe spool is a bit better that 3076. Went with it because Justin mentioned it and i just bought it, its been good to me so far.
I tried the clutch several times before i turned the car off and felt zero vibration. Its weird but really dont lnow whats up with that

yea no real good shops here that i can trust with building the whole thing. I spoke with a local member that is also building his engine and might as well do what he did and get the block and head to the machine shop he went to clean them up bore and hone and assemble the short block for me becausr that was my main concern. The rest really doesnt look that big of a deal

And METH!

I won't be making much over 400whp. But maybe sooner than I would like. I got a rich at idle code P2188 which could be a number of things including leaky injectors.

@Zdraveca; so have you done anymore research? The more brainstorming I do, the more I add, and remove from my list. I have to remind myself that a new built block would already make waaaaay more power than my car currently capable of, so I things I thought I would need, I could probably nix.
