(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok after talking with Amazon i thought i would let the forum know. My mod are CP-E nano, CP-E inlet pipe, CP-E RMM, CP-E hpfp, GT2871turbo, CP-E downpipe, CS catback and now my engine is forged after engine blew with john sitting in the driver seat of my car on the dyno. He tuned it back in November and spike was set at 16psi with a 10psi hold. limiters were lowered in 1st and 2nd and 3rd is gone. Right now i have nothing to monitor the car but it just doesn't sit right with me. Car started on the dyno at 8am when the engine blew it was 4pm. when the engine was taking apart boost lines that were hooked up before john tryed to retune my were some how unhooked. When the car was tuned by him at 7psi he was bypassing the wastegate, John was trying to control boost with a mbc he brought when he returned to retune. He installed it and was unable to work with it. So he took it off and it left with him. It appears John was messing with the boost control line prior to the car blowing. When engine was apart saw that boost lines that were hooked up right before john touched the car were unhooked and hooked up wrong the same guy that built the engine put the turbo on and it was hooked up right. Oh and this wasn't a 10-20 pull on the dyno started at 8am and engine blew at 4pm car was on the dyno all day. Car had been tuned by john the first time in august at 7psi comes back in november to retune it. when boost was at 7psi there was no boost spike at and past 20psi. john said when rods bent boost shot threw the roof and he couldn't control it. he said he was targeting 16psi and blamed it on the wastegate. Backyard tuning has no warranty in general and you know better than that. He had the choice to go to a good name tuner (Cobb, Corksport, etc, etc), paid a little bit more and be on the save side in the even anything will happen to his car in their facility, your car damages should be cover and you could even enforce this. Remember one important step: If you take your car to someone even for little stuffs like a vibration, signing a paper work, authorizing him to take a look at your car, is your own protection. As I said before, in the even the facility catch fire, vandalism, etc, etc, etc. Who knows John can say he never touch your car and he never see it. Right? SUMMARY: Look for some forumist to help fix your car, paid what you have to pay for that. Learn from your mistake, accept them and move on. Pursue, law suite, such BS stories are just a wast of your money and your time. A bon entendeur, salut! I can 1 reason, he help blow his engine.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'll give as much as I can. John had originally street tuned Wallace several months prior to the incident. Wallace's stock turbo had taken a shit, and he wasn't able to get it replaced, so he went with a gt2871. John tuned it and it ran better. He then came back and did a dyno tune. While sitting in the car on the dyno tuning, rods 1 and 4 gave up the ghost. This happened two months ago.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't think one run at 20 PSI will throw a rod...there is more to this story.... 1) 20PSI at 2K RPM = by by rod 2) boost source line blows off and 30PSI + ensues = by by rod [ this = installer at fault] 3) many other options as well as lenny said more information needed before we get the tissues out.

He was set to spike 16 psi and hold 10 psi. Was it knocking? Doubt it, the car sure wasn't when I saw it after John's first tune. Timing? How would he know? You know how tightfisted John is with his data. From what I gather, he wasn't in the car at the time. I see John is still here, time get him in here to comment or ban him.

Cliff notes: Car had been running tuned by John for several months already at 7 psi John started retuning the car to spike at 16 and hold 10 psi Car blew after John had been tuning on it all day John blamed an over boosting issue on the waste gate sticking Upon tear down of the motor, the waste gate was found to be working correctly

| Not Ranked : 0 score i pay attention when im driving that's all, try not to do stupid shit while in cab this car... it does have moments of kr, where you need to get off the gas due to heat or what ever.... do you tip a few back and go for a joy ride (main reason blown engine resource tread) also trying to impress friends, with a free rev, to hear the rev limiter? is second best way to get into the blown engine thread... 3rd is kr, do you have it ? how many pulls in 8 hrs? nuff said
