Default Looking around for Downpipes

Recently put in almost all of my mods (see signature). I'm considering getting a downpipe, catless or catted, not sure yet. I'm assuming the catless would provide more power, due to less restriction... But also with emissions checks every 3 years (I believe), having to pay a shop to take out the aftermarket one and put in the OEM just to pass the test, would be troublesome/expensive. So... Are there any CHEAP downpipes out there? Also not a long pipe, considering I have a UR test pipe already.

Does the UR TP use a flat flange or a crush bent flange on the end that mates to the dp?

If it is a crush bent I would stay away from the ATP dp. It has a flat flange and no ability to accept a doughnut gasket. You will have exhaust leaks.

Yes I read the sticky. I just question what people put on ebay... When you see something that says "Mazda 3 / Ford Focus Downpipe 'etc'... (Fits Mazdaspeed 3)" I'm not 100 % convinced.

First emissions is in 5 years and then every 2 years after that. Why would u even consider paying a shop every 2 years to uninstall and install. The benefits are not worth it. I would imagine an uninstall and install of a dp would cost somewhere around $800 (6-8 hours of labor). That's crazy! And all that for 5-10 whp? I would recommend UR catted dp since u already have ur tp. U will have fitment problems when mix and matching dp, tp, and cbe.

i have the UR catted dp, install was a breeze, and honestly cat less dp is worth next to no hp gain over catted and negligible torque as well. My buddy has same mods/tune as me, except he has the ATP?? catless dp. At any rate its catless, and he doesnt jump me at all, he may have a slightly stronger top end but honestly its so close its really a drivers race. Now my car sounds sexy with Catted DP, 3" resonator and no muffler. His shits catless and straight pipe the whole way out, and i can hear his car over my own... its loud as hell. If you want noise go catless, if you want to put it in once and never worry about it again, catted. Power is the same.

i just went UR catless DP to UR TP to Stock CBE w/ res. delete. It sounds so sexy. i was thinking of a muffler delete but it would probably shake pictures off the wall on cold start. That said my buddy has the axle back with muffler cut out and i haz the ramps in my hatch.
