(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Pressing clutch pedal doesn’t change anything. I can rev in neutral and it comes on with clutch depressed and in gear. But if your going on boost then out into neutral on highway the noise stops, but revving in neutral it comes back, in gear also. Basically only when you touch accelerator anytime it comes on.I have 52k miles no mods, been doing since 46k miles hasn’t gotten any louder since then. Took to a mechanic today he couldn’t source the issue, saying it was my turbo or it could be a pulley free spinning and needs to be replaced. But if it was my turbo how come I can hit full boost then neutral and it goes away wouldn’t it spool down and keep making the noise before I add any more engine load so it comes back? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I doubt it's the turbo. It's speed varies greatly compared to engine RPM...so any noise from it would be variable by comparison.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I’m not sure, I can hear a metal chain spinning sounds when he revs at start slowly with air sounds and engine sounds with it. I tried to get my own video of mine but it’s too hard to hear in the video. But that noise is closest that resembles my issue right now. | Not Ranked : 0 score That chain-like rotating noise is normal, I know exactly what you're describing. More noticeable when driving close to a wall like a drive thru for example. It probably has something to do with our HPFP, my car has made that sound since new. The Speed6 has an even louder "chain" sound. Engine shroud quiets it down, if you go FMIC or TMIC with no shroud it will get louder.
