| ![]() ![]() ![]() This release is epic. Opens up the possibility of throwing in new transmissions and different fuels without having to mess with the MAF cal. There wasn't much going on with the Versatuner, but when it did...

Now that I replaced my failed thermostat (i was so lucky to figure it out while temps were still near freezing), after this spring blizzard will be over I'll have to come back to you to take another look at my current tune (and the damage I've done to it). I don't think we can get more power out of this car on pump gas but maybe we can make it more reliable and consistent.

| ![]() ![]() ![]() Am I the only one who wants boost PID so bad? I mean that shouldn't be to complicated to calculate, manifold absolute pressure - ~14.5PSI or real atmospheric pressure = boost , right? It would be so much easier to compare logs..

| ![]() ![]() ![]() The manifold absolute pressure is the RIGHT thing you want to compare and take as point of reference when working on a tune. Boost will also do since the barometric pressure doesn't vary too much and some consider it a fixed value (14.60-14.7psi/100-101.5kpa). Boost = MAP-BARO, you can always log them both, export the logs into an excel sheet and calculate the boost. Visually you can always extract 100kpa/14.5psi (rounded values) from the MAP and you have an idea of what boost you're running. When you compare logs you do it in excel anyway, so it's easier to do that there rather than while logging and trying to get as many PID values in one second.

| ![]() ![]() ![]() Mizzle: I think this question can be answered by a tuner only, maybe @Lex? However, I think in therms of control it is closer and closer to the AP (but still pretty far behind), and considering the following: - rpm range up to 8k rpm; - load range up to 4.0; - the possibility to change gear ratios it allows even more control for extreme applications with rebuilt transmissions and different gear ratios, high RPM engines (I'm not sure if anyone revved up to 8k just yet, I think everybody stopped at 7.5k max), with stupid big turbo's. However, you can reach load 3 even with a 3076, so the fact that one can control more exactly what happens above 7k rpm and load 2 may be quite useful for some people.

| ![]() ![]() ![]() I spy their site often and with this latest update, they have just about everything the AP offers now. I'd really like gen2 support and would give it a whirl. I can say that their forum is great and Steve seems to be really active there and Lex never hesitates to help out on here if needed, so it is a definite competitor. Rad fan operation must be a wicked bitch to get control of because neither Cobb nor Versatune has been able to get those tables to work (not cracking on either company, considering I can barely work my climate control using the buttons).. |

(Thread Starter) | ![]() ![]() ![]() Logs can be saved in .vtlog xml format for viewing in the built in VersaTuner log viewer or .csv for import into a variety of apps including VirtualDyno. Live tracing is not available yet. Here is a shot of the VersaTuner log viewer. It's a little busy when viewed on a laptop (which is what I took the pic from), but on a large desktop display it's really nice. You can turn the axes on and off and zoom in and out to get up close and personal with the log data. |

(Thread Starter) | ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is a shot of the real time logging screen. Current values as well as min/max values are shown. Audio alerts can be triggered per PID based on configurable thresholds. (KR >2.0, BAT > 70C, MAP > 254 kPa, etc.) Units can be customized per PID for Metric or Imperial. | ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess I should say full fuel control on the high pressure side and support for aftermarket rail pressure sensors. Sorry I was tired and screwed that post all up. Versatune does have rail pressure control, considering that I beta tested it I should know lol.

this log is meager compared to the ones @cld12pk2go; is used to looking at haha i have the ONLY upgraded PnP rail pressure sensor available for our platform if anyone is interested in using it. i paid a pretty penny for it and did a ton of testing with cobb before we figured out that a ton of equations needed to be modified to get it to work.

(Thread Starter) | ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, we have a plug and play pressure sensor that we've tested with too. The problem with increasing fuel pressure is that flow is proportional to the square root of pressure differential across the orifice. To double stock flow, you need 4x the pressure. The gains of increasing rail pressure from 1800 to 2500 PSI is only 17.8% more flow. The real solution for high rpm power is larger injectors. |

| ![]() ![]() ![]() Ide personally take even +5% more flow, and that is 5% that Cobb gave up on. Right now we dont even have a way to properly tune bigger injectors. I think Aviator79 has the only set and he is running them as a bolt on. He has Rons old set which I think are rated at +15% flow but the company said +25% is possible.

The Versatune log plot didn't look too bad (way better than Virtual Dyno's plot). I am just very comfy with my Excel templates...

(Thread Starter) | ![]() ![]() ![]() The pnp sensor is a $92 OEM part. All of the fuel pressure axes need to be rescaled which is difficult to do since the table data is non-linear. |

| ![]() ![]() ![]() V1.9 just got released and i think you AP guys would love this update ![]() Torque Limit Disable - FINALLY!!! You can now disable all torque limiters, including traction control and torque vectoring due to steering angle sensor (SWAS) input. This feature is enabled via a new check box in Tune Customizer. MegaSpool - A Mazdaspeed/Mazda MPS tuning first. Now even the biggest turbos can be fully spooled at launch. MegaSpool provides configurable timing retard during Launch Control and No-Lift-Shift. This feature is configured in Tune Customizer.
