I installed my candy red (w/ chrome smoke base) HTP 3" Intake a while ago and forgot to post my impressions. It looks awesome and pictures don't do it justice. This intake sounds amazing! ... not too loud, but lets you hear the turbo spool, air sucking, and BPV sounds. I wouldn't want a silicone intake if it would be any quieter. Love the sounds exactly as is. I installed all my mods at once, so it's hard to comment on power gained, etc... but with the mods in my sig I'm making around 290whp on 91oct as per VD, so the intake must be doing its job

HTP we the speed6 guys or guinea pigs for you full 3.0 intake stiil awaiting on the on the fix for correct fitment.Do you have any updates? is been 2 months! or if you dont have a fix dont make false promisee.

It will fit, but you might damage the finish. I posted pictures of the stock battery with this intake in this thread.



FWIW, I have contacted @HTP; by email twice recently and I haven't received a response either time.

We rushed and made a solution. We test fit it on the 2 local cars that we have access to, it works just fine......only problem, both cars have OEM replacement batteries. The replacement batteries are not the same dimensions as the OEM battery. The main problem is the height of the replacement batteries, no worries, we found a customer that had the OEM battery and our 3" intake. We have sent the relocation plate and hold down spacer for test fitting and have been........awaiting its installation. Until then, we know it works with the shorter replacement batteries (the hold down spacer just isn't used).

I honestly didn't want to send out this fix until it was absolutely verified. I also really didn't want to post up pics of it because this solves the rubbing issue on other manufacturers silicone intakes as well and didn't want the fix to get "borrowed". When its verified, it will be included with our MS6 3" intakes and be available for purchase separately for those having the issue with other products. And for those of you who've already ordered, please contact us directly with your order number and we'll send the fix to you once it's verified.

If it was an email that was a request for something to be fabricated, then it's my fault that you haven't got a response. Katie forwards all fab requests to me and I have been snowed in on our Z06 product line most of this year. We completed our record setting products for the Z06's and are back to giving love to the Mazdas.

If you guys don't receive a response, please give a jingle. We really don't want anyone to slip through the cracks.

I spoke with our powder coater earlier; he just got back from vacation yesterday. Right now he's playing catch up and is running a bit behind with our stuff. I should have everything back from him before the end of the week, if not sooner. Once it's back in my hands it'll be out the door asap. We do apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience!

On a positive note...we're mid-demolition right now and expanding the shop another 4000+ square feet to include our own in-house powder coating services (among other things) which we'll have up and running this summer!

Got the HTP 3.0" system installed, love it, low key with all the flow you need for the K04. Sounds awesome, quality is there, dialing in the MAF now.

So @HTP; whats the latest and greatest on the Speed6 3" intakes? Are they available and shipping with the battery tray to fit with stock size battery? Might be ready to ditch my CS if I can fit this in nicely and still have my battery secured. My stock tray is so butchered up trying to fit my CS in with their cold air box it barely holds the battery in place.

There are others that say full intake that don't include the TIP from other manufactures. HTP also sells a seperate 2.5" and 3.0" TIP.

Yes, other manufactures have said the same thing (i.e. short ram or full) and it didn't connect as a TIP. As I just said, I'll just call. I feel like I'm stuttering repeating myself. A simple yes it does or no it doesn't would of sufficed and not the back talk.

In case you guys wondering if HTP 3.5" intake will fit with JBR battery tray, here is the picture of it. It is indeed very tight with the intake rubbing the ECU wiring harness. Tried with all sort of methods (trimming the coupler to turbo so that the intake shift closer to engine) and none of them working well. The MAF is practically touching the harness. End up, we were drilling new holes on JBR tray to mount the ECU closer to firewall.

The intake was fitted to GTX3071R ATP turbo. It pushed the turbo inlet further out compared to OEM K04.

For a short term fix a piece of coolant hose cut open and wrapped around the harness will prevent damage to the wires (or the powder coat) but moving the ECU back might be best; still hate how most (all?) relocation kits leave the top of the ECU exposed.

I ended up going with the HTP tray because it sits back an inch or two further then the JBR one. Hope you are able to get things adjusted enough and like @Yatta; said, you can use a bit of hose over the wires to provide a buffer.
