Resolution found. It may have been a bad resistor, but I purchased another package of 2.7ohm resistors. Tested one and it read 2.6ohm, placed it into the air bag resistor and bam no air bag light. In case people find this thread via google here were my resources. Highly recommend the Wedge brackets as mine were a perfect fit.

and this thread shows that the airbags will still go off with the code 22 . Fixed back racing/bucket seat in 2010 MS3

and this thread re: ohms - YMMV as mine needed a 2.6 to get rid of the light.
