I mean FUCK yall are about to give me a anuerism trying to read some of this shit. My frickin head is spinning. I don't know maybe I'm not JDM enough or something, maybe I'm too old. Sometimes I swear yall abbreviate some shit just so you could be the first to come up with a catchy abbreviation.

So please can a Mod like sticky a glossary or some shit so I can understand what WTF I am reading. I mean OMG TSB. Yall are speaking borderline Mandarin Chinese.

:)

Lymerock 11-25-2008 05:53 PM

I think you missed a few.

most of the abreviations will make sense if you decode them in the context of the message. If you really want to spearhead such an effort, go for it, if there are a few you find and cant define, im sure people would be happy to jump in and tell ya, but my guess is that 95% of the people on this site know them already and dont need said sticky.

not trying to be a douche, just putting it out there that this isnt the starter site. you graduate to MSF once ya go through all the grade school shit over at 24/7 and m3f

again, if you make a list, im sure people will help out, but I dont see it happening, I know i got better shit to do like drinking beer, farting, surfing porn, etc

again, I, unlike a certain canadian, dont say any of the above to be a dick

No problem and I honestly am used to it. I have been in the car thing pre F&F so I know how it goes. Its just too much sometimes. I need the fucking Rosetta Stone to decipher some of the shit.

In an aviation related forum that I check daily (airliners.net), there is a feature where all the airport and airline abbreviations such as KLAX, KPRC, KPHX, US, and CO are hot (or whatever you would call it) so that when you move your mouse over them, they the actual name will appear (ex. Los Angeles Int. for KLAX). That way, if you know the abbreviation, you're good, if you dont, then you just go over it with your mouse and it'll tell you...
As an example, check this thread out:
UA Flight JFK To Bangkok — Civil Aviation Forum | Airliners.net

This feature may come exceptionally handy with all of our growing abbreviations..

I am an A&P Licensed Mechanic and I have only so much room for abbreviations since I live between GSO and INT.

I may start a new thread called the mod to complaint to Mazda timeline. How long does a modification take to cause a complaint and that complaint ultimately being blamed on Mazda. Something like this;

I'm buying an STi.

We will even have a little fancy abbreviation of MCMP (Mod to Complaint to Mazda Period) the above example will have a MCMP of three weeks.

Dude GA kills me because its like "I need this alternator fixed" I look at it and its a frickin AC Delco alternator from a Malibu, but since it has to have the stamp it costs like $500 instead of the $60 it would normally cost at NAPA. Go get your license it takes some time and a lot of hours in the class room but its worth it in the end. I might look into US Airways I heard they may be hiring mechs again soon.
