I have had great success with the 3 port solenoids on the BNR, and boost control is a breeze. But I have a specific set of comp tables I've created to make it work well.

The OP will be reporting on this shortly My own test car is tuned using the boost dial and the BNR S3. It is very easy to dial in a load based tune. That's not to say the 3 port won't also work. The OP is currently tuned using the 3 port.

Plus... they cost less, are easier to install, have no IWG problems, get to use the factory turbo bracket, and can even use the stock TIP if you needed to. Lots of good things about going with the BNR.
No shit, I was just poking fun.

I am out of fuel on my GTX, so I know the pain.

And, you maxed my cousin (bwspeed) out on his GTX last week.

I'm well aware of the limitations.

Yes sir @Lex is correct. The boost dial and load tuning is next up......Lex I'll probably be purchasing them this week or next......MY WALLET is not happy with you right now LOL!!!! The 3 port is awesome don't get me wrong but I like the constant torque appeal in all conditions of the load based tuning If there's one thing I've learned during the current tuning process with Lex, the up and down fluctuations of Oklahoma temps really has a big effect on the tune. I just want a little better consistency......Can't wait to see what the Mad Canadian Scientist will be able to do next!!!!

Honestly I don't FULLY understand it either. I think I would have to do a lot more reading on tuning before I actually know right where it would be a better tool for certain situations. Also something that E-tuners will appreciate the part more in its capabilities than knuckle dragging wrench turners which is where my "expertise" (I use the term loosely) comes to a halt.

As "load based" being the key term I see in the explanation of what it does seems like the ecu commanding boost or something based on load rather than just commanding xx psi at xxxx rpm.

*EDIt*
Also I think it uses a closer to stock type setup which is more elastic as far as drastic temperature changes in certain environments.

If you are on the stock K04 you'd only want to play with it if you want to hold a bit more boost up top. It's not something I recommend on the K04 as I don't recommend running a 3 port on the K04 - just too hard on the turbo.

However the boost dial will really help you control boost and load on a big turbo setup. This allows you to control boost in 2 port mode which in turn gives the ECU a lot more control over your boost without causing oscillations or being affected by temperature changes.

Controlling boost using a solenoid in 2 port using the Boost Dial is the key here. You can boost tune or load tune, but the key is that boost dial allows you to set your boost control method to 2 port instead of having to jump into a 3 port with a big turbo. This can improve spool without causing oscillations and greatly improves boost control consistency. You can use the OEM solenoid or an aftermarket in 2 port mode and it is a smoother and more flexible manner for controlling boost and load.

More people will be chiming in here on the difference in how the cars responds with the Boost Dial and most are quite impressed.

You hit it on the nail here. Living in Oklahoma it is not out the ordinary for temps to reach a high in the 20s or 30s with windchills in the teens one day and 60 or 70 the very next. Poor Lex had a field day getting this tuned dialed in due to these variations. Though I'm very very pleased with this setup as it is, I want to make consistant (or near as can be) power no matter the outside variables......Best part.....If I don't like it....I still have a MEAN 3 port map I can switch back too

It also makes the car smoother, more responsive and fun all around. I barely have to touch the gas to build boost and other than that response feels like my older e85 tunes. Fast to the point, there when I need it. It's been said before that I've had issues with spool. The grimspeed 3 port felt and sounded choppy ( oscillations ), the mbc slow responding and relied on my mechanical gate to control which ive had issues with. The boost dial ( with stock bcs) brought my spool up on my bt and made it an enjoyable fast feeling ( not just fast data wise) car again. Also no more crazy spikes and my creep is resolved. I can't be happier, yeah temps have to be watched and accounted for with major changes, but I mean it's not like we log once while we tune then stop. As long as you keep an eye on things like you usually would do, adjustments can be made.
