Default The difference is in the tune!

Just finished my E85 tune with Alex. The car feels like a beast. I am convinced that the ko4 in my circumstances can not put out any more torque than what im at currently. Anyways the tuning process was quite long as I decided after tuning on 91 to also tune for E85 and then retuning when I upgraded the intake. Also I had a switch in wheels and tires which is why the attached VD has different tire sizes. I strongly recommend Stratified tuning for your tuning needs. By the way @Lex; I believe my buddy Bryan is gonna contact you for a tune on his ST. The VD I believe is a OTS map on 91 compared to my final E85 tune.

I'm seeing about the same numbers on a 25% mix.

What % eth are you running?

So about 37% then.

Interesting. I've been thinking about increasing my mix to edge out some more gains, but I'm not so sure it's justified.

@Lex; is this typical of MBT for this kind of setup?

I guess it all just depends on fuel quality really and how hard you want to push your settup

If you have the IDC headroom and don't mind a little worse gas mileage, I don't see why not. The higher ethanol content will mean even better combustion chamber cooling, which definitely shouldn't hurt. Ethanol also carries oxygen, so in theory, you'd be getting more oxygen into the combustion chamber as well. It's hard to say how much you'd get out of a little more, but it's worth a shot. Worst case scenario, you don't see any gains, because the K04 is maxed out and you end up dropping back down to your current E mix.

There's just a little big of buffer left timing wise in the tune. As you approach MBT your gains from timing are minimal so it's good to leave a little bit of headroom if you hit the sweet spot with the tune.

Also I generally recommend 4 gallons of E85 per tank for a gen2 but when 91 fuel is the base fuel it doesn't hurt to add a little more since knock can still play a role.
