Default Found some E85 in Canada close to me!

Wow, I started searching for some E85 in Canada as I knew it was popular in the USA and alot of folks on here are making very nice numbers using E85.

I also knew it was rare to find some in Canada but I didn't know it was THIS rare...

Theres some in Ottawa, Ontario which is roughly 45 mins drive to get there.

What I want to know is how safe is it to put this amazing gas in my car if it's not tuned for it? It's running S-OTS stage 1 atm. It's probably not good to run a full tank of it but maybe say 50% E85 and 50% 91/94 octane would be safe?

Most Canadian users on here are probably familiar with Petro-Canada's Ultra 94 octane fuel that's sold across the country and the highest quality pump gas widely available.

That makes me want that custom tune from Lex even more now

Here are some thoughts on the topic:

- I would not go above 50% E85 or you will have to clean your HPFP often.
- I would stick to 25-30% E85.
- Ultra 94 gets you close to E85 timing numbers
- You can add a splash of E85 (1-2 gallons) to an S-OTS map but even Ultra 94 will keep you knock free on the S-OTS maps.
- To reap the benefits of the high octane fuel, a custom tune is needed.

Good to know Lex, thanks!

But yeah the stations in Ottawa are a good 45-50 mins drive to get to so it's not like I would refuel with some on a regular basis (maybe once a month or so)

I usually refuel with the Ultra 94 when I went to the city, the highest octane I have in my small town is 91 and even with that fuel I don't see any knock even running the 93 octane ots maps.

But it's nice to know that I can put a small amount of E85 whenever I go to the city, I'll try a quarter tank mixed with 91 next time
