Currently I have a 200y mazdaspeed 3 gt with cobb intake, cobb tih, autotech internals, and RMM. My next mods that I planned on doing were a catted downpipe with a custom tune and possibley a 25-50%e85 mix.

My goals are about 300-310whp and 350-360tq on the k04. Daily driven no more then maybe 22psi

I've been looking at the 3"+ intakes and I'm still not sure what kind of gains over my cobb intake to expect with the k04....

So I guess my question is multi fold. Should i go for the 3"+ intake with the downpipe on my k04 or no? Also what does the stratified etune cost and is it adjustable as i mod? Can i get a tune with my mods now then tweak it after adding downpipe and possibly tweak it again after 3" intake. Then tweak it again on 30% e85 or is this all a pipe dream?

In terms of the parts, I would leave the intake as-is and get and AEM dryflow filter on it. I would then get a race pipe instead of a full downpipe and the money saved put it towards a nicely flowing top mount intercooler. That would be it for engine mods on the K04.

With E85 and a custom tune you won't have issues hitting 300+whp even without the additional parts installed. I would however put in a test pipe (replace the second cat) to free up the exhaust a bit since it is relatively cheap and easy to install.

With those additional parts installed on a well running motor and E85 on a ~70F day you will be in the 315-325whp range.

A 3" intake will free up some flow and it's probably worth another ~10whp.

The Guardian Angel is recommended anytime as you can overboost with any turbo. It is especially recommended when you modify the boost control system by adding a 3port or bigger turbo for example.

I wanted to respond to a post in another thread but the thread was closed so I figured I would ask in this thread I already started earlier.

Quote from Lex:
Let me make things a little clearer here.

There are no loopholes for Canada. I went through the COBB application process, I have access to a dyno, I have an insurance policy. If this wasn't clear before - we are professionals and a business in every sense of the word (yes that means having the education and training, paying taxes to the government, fees, book-keeping, you name it) and COBB has recognized this and lists Stratified as both a tuner and e-tuner.

Investing in this license also gives me access to COBBs support team and I keep in close touch with David and their MazdaSpeed team. I get to evaluate new features, report issues, and help improve the product before it is released to ATR. Stratified is also a COBB vendor. We also work together with some of the other vendors and companies for the MazdaSpeed platform in order to best serve the platform and community. We constantly evaluate and improve what we offer be it the tuning services or products.

I am not playing here, making extra cash on the side, nor am I unclear about what it costs to purchase the products and services we offer. I take this very seriously and I employ several individuals that I train directly and we all follow a very rigorous process when tuning to ensure safety for the customer as well as meet their goals and expectations.
-----End quote------

So As a licensed and approved vendor and tuner acknowledged by COBB is there an explainable reason I can get an e85 E-tune from you but my local cobb won't do an e85 protune?

Maybe your local tuner is not comfortable with the car or platform? Not interested? They are the only ones who can tell you why they won't tune your car. We certainly have the experience and knowledge to do so.
