Wanted to say I'm very happy with Stratified. Placed order for E85 tune Friday afternoon, received request for car info for tune shortly after. Filled it out Friday night and received my tune by 2pm today.

Car feels much smoother than with previous Cobb OTS stage 2 tune. Feels great the few times I was able to go WOT briefly on the way home.

Dreaded MS6 2-3 shift stutter, felt it the other day. Should this be happening with an OTS+E85 tune? Haven't driven the car much on this tune to see if I can repeat it every time. That I recall, I've only WOT fast shifted that one time from 2 to 3. Most of my WOT time has started in 3rd then into 4th with no hesitation at any point.

Unfortunately the ap doesn't allow the removal of the stutter that is programmed into the ECU. Versatuner does remove the stutter. It is related to the ECU initiating a cut when the clutch is pushed in.

Well finally got a chance to do a log with the S-OTS+ E85 stage 2 tune and attempted a 3rd gear v-dyno graph. This is just a quick 3-4 run. I didn't run out 3rd as this was my first log ever and wanted to make sure it looked okay. It was about 30-35 degrees out at night. I'm not sure if it is running a little lean or if that is just the E85, thoughts?

Relevant mods are cp-e HPFP, FMIC, nano intake, TIP, and dual catback. Also have ATP catted downpipe and synapse synchronic BOV in recirc.

It is running a little lean under WOT but there is no knock. Reply to the e-mail you received the map from with this log and I will have a look.

Thanks for sharing. Try starting the pull a little earlier - right at 3000 RPM. You will get a better curve and more torque.

I think I just fail at virtual dyno because the log for it starts at 2800 rpm.

BTW is boost supposed to taper? I'm seeing 18 pushing close to 19 at over 6k.

This depends on your car. The tune is targeting load (airflow) rather than boost. Up top it will try and hold as much boost as it can to get to the load targets.

Some cars are able to hold boost better than others.

I just received and flashed the S-OTS+ E85 tune on my 2008 Mazdaspeed 3. I am very impressed how well the car performs and how well calibrated this tune is. Definitely a huge difference vs the S-OTS+ Stage 1 I was running. I've attached a log from this mornings drive if anyone would like to see it. A big thanks and a to Stratified for taking the time to create an E85 flash tune for those of us who can't seem to find the time necessary to get a full custom tune. Thanks again!!

Tim

I know I have been lagging on getting a new tune Lex.
Finally two weekends ago I decided to tackle my dp install. So with that said I think I will be trying this e-85 mix ots+.
I've read through and it looks like just 4 gallons of e-85 and top off the rest and I shouldnt really have to worry using rotella t6 oil?
Making my purchase as soon as I finish this comment.

You can use the oil of your choice. The Rotella is a good oil for this car but you don't have to use that particular oil.

Okay cool! Btw I do recall being able to upgrade the ots + tune to the newer version (flash tune) for the original users. Is that still in effect? Cause I paid for a regular ots flash tune

Yes, $25 to upgrade here:

MazdaSpeed/MPS Flash Tune Upgrade [MazdaSpeed/MPS FlashTune Upgrade] - $25.00USD : Stratified Automotive Controls

It is for the same fuel type of tune. So you can't upgrade a 93 tune into E85. But you can upgrade the 93 tune to the latest 93 tune or as you change parts on the car upgrade for the new parts.

Can I run this tune using Meth in tank instead of e85?
I usually fill with 94 pump.
How much methyl hydrate is enough?

Or would you maybe just recommend this for custom tune instead of ots+?

You can experiment. I would start with 2 gallons (7-8 litres of methyl hydrate). If you see knock then increase the amount.

A custom tune is the option where if you want to run just 4 litres for example, we can build it specifically for you in that fashion.

This is correct 25% by volume.
@Lex; I just wanted to make sure I'm following the fill up procedure for this tune correctly... On a 2008 which has a 14.5 gal tank for me to achieve E25 I would only fill 3 gal of e85 to 10.5 gal of e10. Since I last filled as per the instructions that came with the tune (4 gallons of e85 to 10 gallons E10 yields me E30) If this is correct, this would possibly explain why my actual AFR are 11.9 vs the target of 11.4 ? Your thoughts?

Send in a log as a reply to the email with the tune. I can give it a quick look. I recommend 4 gallons to err on the safe side.

I haven't had a good chance to get a log, we've had quite a bit of rain dumped on us lately. I'll try to pull one this morning and shoot it your way. Thanks for taking the time to help.

Have you incorporated the MS6 shift stutter fix in the revised tunes or does that require custom tune?

Just rolled over 1000 miles on my +e85 tune. I'm pretty happy with it. Will be getting a full tune. Just gotta take care of my smokey turbo and clean my valves!

how much timing can you actually add on 85 over an aggressive 94 tune? I have a tune by you on 94 that was have hit iteration 2.10 on so we have pushed timing up each time. I want to run a custom E85 tune if it will render me big gains.. plus I have installed my meth kit, but that is there for safety more then pushing for more power.

Since you have a custom tune send me some up to date logs to give you an idea on what is left on the table.

Hey Lex have a question right now I have a stage 2 S-OTS+ map it's a stage 2 version i know its recommended to run 1 step colder plugs but I never had the need for them . When I did try them I had spark blowout on cold starts first thing in the morning . What I'm getting at is for the e85 map do I need to run 1 step colder ?

For a modified stg2 car, a step colder is the recommendation. Make sure the plugs are gapped 0.026" to avoid blow out.

I had itv22 and they were gapped to 0.26 I had a slight hesitation upon cold starts and first minute of driving after that it was fine . Put the stock plugs back in misfire feel is gone and get no knock on stock heat range plugs ? I just ordered the E85 flash that's why I'm asking
