What can I say, it's hands down the best $200 I've spent on this car to date. I don't think you can pick up more power and torque with any bolt-on. Not to mention the ultra smooth and linear power delivery. As with every other Stratified Tune review you've read all comments are positive. Lex was very professional, responsive and effective. The car pulls like a freight train and I would've been happy after the 3rd revision. He did 5 before we called it quits. Apparently my 94 Octane gas combined with my UR FMIC and CPE CAI put me up to E-85 timing levels. I think any fellow Canucks should support a fellow Canuck and check out Stratified. VD's attached.

That's a nice power line, just awaiting a few goodies to be fitted before I get the lex treatment.

Atomic...my french Canadian brother - yes I had the Stage 2+ CpCai +TIH +IC +93 ++++ whatever map and this tune is 10 times better than that was. I ran every different map available/applicable map and this tune is still WAY better. More power, smoother, better. Lex will add timing (spark advance) among other tweaks and this is where the power is at. Don't waste your time tuning yourself, spend the $200, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Are you trying to hit 21psi of boost at 4000 rpm or was that overboost?

Good to know.

I noticed you used the Dynojet correction factor. Do you know what you end up with with a 1.01 CF? (I believe it is the more common one to use)

I only hit 21 psi because it was a 4th gear pull from way down low. Under normal driving I would never be flooring it at 2800 rpm in 4th gear. This was just for tuning/logging purposes.

Under normal driving or hard driving going through the gears at optimal shift points I usually spike about 19 psi, higher in the higher gears as you can really load up the car in 5th and 6th. See attached for a 2-3-4 pull.

I think you're referring to the VD correction factor which is 1.0. See attached. Still not bad considering I have the Stock downpipe and this was taken during a heatwave with 100% humidity. It was 30 degree's Celsius (86F), 36/37 Celsius (97+F) with the humidex.

On a cool summer night when temps drop down into the 60's and 70's the car will absolutely haul even more ass and another 10-15 whp will be no problem.

We all know our cars run much faster when cold/cool and as they heatsoak they slow down significantly. We'll my car on the hottest days of July during a heatwave pulls harder than it did this spring in cool 65F temps on the Stage 2++++ tune.

Still looks real good, and is super promising for when I finally get my tune. No question when you get some cold air you will gain some power.

And I believe you can put in a "custom correction factor". Ive been using 1.01 becuase somewhere a while ago I read that people were getting the closest results between that and a real dyno numbers.

Hey All,

I totally vouch for Lex! We are tuning mine right now and the results are amazing. Lots of logs and driving, I'm really getting to know my car in a new way, plus actually learning some shit.

Cheers,

Thank you for the very kind words

Correction factors don't matter too much simply because even dyno operators apply varying correction factors. I leave it at the DJ correction factor for everyone I work with since this is what I've been using and it gives me a personal frame of reference between all the cars I'm working with. After all, a dyno is just a frame of reference.

This car performed extremely well even under very hot conditions. It took timing like a champ on the 94 pump gas and when temperatures drop there's another 20whp or so left on the table simply because the turbo will be able to naturally flow more.

The K04 MS3s are flow limited in almost all conditions so temperature plays a huge role.

EDIT: I know I am a couple days behind my tunes and e-mails but I will be catching up today and tomorrow with everyone! Been working hard on boost control for the big turbo guys and it sucked up my time

Been working hard on boost control for the big turbo guys and it sucked up my time
Add some more tunes next week so i may purchase one please

Are you using petro ultra 94? Or do you guys have something different in quebec?

I didnt realize the ethanol content was that much, but hey the #'s on u94 is
101.5 Ron
80Mon
94 AKI

Where e85 #'s are
102-105Ron
85-87Mon
94-96 AKI

Aki is (r+m)/2

Looks like the ultra 94 we get is very close to e85

However MON is far more important for FI cars so the 85-87 MON is quite a bit higher than the 80 that your 94 has.

I must also post my experience with @Lex for a second and probably won't be my last as he is not done yet. I sent him a message explaining that my COBB AP was damaged in an experience I had to deal with to where I could no longer use the main unit. I was assured by Lex that it would not be a problem and that he would suspend my time allotted until COBB could repair the unit and send it back to me. He also sent me my new map and said "this is for when you get your AP back, have fun with this one". Not exact words but as close as I can remember it at this very second. I'm so impressed with him and his service that I have been bragging about how awesome he is to my wife and the other local mazdaspeed guys and now I felt it was time to let everyone else know how great of a person and tuner he is. Lex, my offer still stands if you are ever in my neck of the woods, I will buy you countless amount of alcoholic beverages and you can crash here afterwards. You are doing a superb job and know this will not be my last review of how great you are doing. Cheers.

Yes, I am using the Petro Canada Ultra 94 but I'm not in Quebec, I live in Kingston, Ont. (Where are you? You going to MOM on Sunday in Caledon?)
Only 2-3 cents more than 91 and what a difference!

I wish I knew more about those numbers above but either way this is awesome. I no longer live in a constant state of sadness and jealousy over our American neighbours and they're E-85.

Americans, how much more or less is E-85 over premium?

E85 is less $ per gallon, but you use like 2X the fuel when using ethanol.

U.S guys will have to chyme in

I lose 1.5-2 mpg on a 25% mix and e85 is around .75 cheaper per gallon in my area

I'm seeing some very nice numbers from the 94 octane on the east coast. Some people are able to run almost as much as 25% E85 mixes.
