Freak, I'm just wondering if maybe some of the US MS3's got the large tanks or if the Cananadidian models are larger than 1 gallon? Since there are 2 tanks we should be seeing 2 distinctly different measurements.

Awesome! Didn't find this until today, and this seems to be by far the cleanest setup.
Now, I don't want methanol on my clear coating. I spend a lot of time sourcing windshield washer fluid with no methanol. And since I'll be happy with only water injection for only the cooling effect I wonder how bad is to spray windshield washer and detergents into the engine Probably not a big deal at all.

My washer fluid is 3 liters, so about one gallon. If this works I'm going to acquire a 5 liter one.

I believe the canadien ms3 has a slightly larger reservoir but not positive on that.

You can spray wwf, just make sure it doesn't have glycol in it. I was spraying wwf for a while when I first installed the meth kit, but it used methanol for the anti freeze agent.

Well, if it doesn;t have methanol then it has glycol. FML...! So I need a separate reservoir...

That link I posted earlier in the thread proves that atleast some MS3's got the larger tank but still not sure what size it is or if its worth upgrading to.

I'm also wondering if it was to use a separate tank, where exactly it would fit best somewhere in the engine bay? Even a 2 quart tank... even if it stays low in the engine bay or it's not reachable directly it's pretty easy to fabricate some ducts/pipes and move the cap in an easily reachable location.

Looking for yet more info from you guys

Leaning towards aquamist check valve jet ( Checkvalve jet for 4mm OD hose (qty. discount) - aquamist-direct.com ) mounted to their silicone hose adaptor ( silicon hose adaptor (4, 5, 6mm) (qty. discount) - aquamist-direct.com )

After researching as much as possible aquamist seems to make the best available parts

Edited - looks like I'll get 6mm jet & 6mm CV - the combined CV jets only available in 4mm

Gen 1 Canadian cars came with a much larger tank and a low level light.

I've ran the methanol based washer fluid for a long time and it turns out the blue dye is not compatible with really small meth nozzles at high pressure. Over time (a few years) it has started clogging my nozzle (I know, that's what she said).

So now I mix my own 50/50 methyl hydrate/distilled water.

yellow stuff probably has glycol in it.

I experienced the same as lex with the blue stuff. When I pulled my nozzle to just check everything over, I found blue build up around the screen/filter for nozzle. It hadn't clogged it but I'm sure it would have over time.

Checked and yes, prestone washer fluid uses a form of glycol.... looks like the best bet for washer fluid is still the blue stuff and just check every so often.... maybe every time you change wheels for those of use who have a snow tire setup.

Wouldn't be better to tap and put a fitting in the tank to make sure the W/M pump doesn't work to hard pulling WW trought the WW pump.

I'm about to do the same setup, but i think i'm gonna tap in the tank

No real point in tapping the tank. As soon as you take the hose off the washer fluid pisses all over the place. They aren't restrictive at all unless you're pumping so much volume that the stock hose diameter wont keep up.

For those of you that are considering installing the jet/nozzle on silicone hose here are some very good pics showing the aquamist silicone hose adaptor with install guide:
Aquamist soft pipe jet adapters now available - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum - worth looking at instead of the devils own option which has very mixed reviews.
Edit: Aquamist use 4mm on there set up and snow/DO use 1/4" hose. If anyone wanted to use this silicone adaptor setup they have to use aquamist jet and require a 1/4" to 4mm high pressure inline filter to make it work as Snow jets have filter just prior to jet.

As mentioned on another thread it is an option to install a seperate washer fluid tank, then have the existing washer set up for meth only - as it already has the low level warning dash light and it holds a nice amount of fluid.(not everyone happy to be spraying meth over their freshly waxed car etc)
Another guy mounted a tank at rear of bay which looked ok:

3 qt meth tank but can be used as a washer fluid tank running a line to washer pump.
This is a setup which I'll be going for

As mentioned on another thread it is an option to install a seperate washer fluid tank, then have the existing washer set up for meth only - as it already has the low level warning dash light and it holds a nice amount of fluid.(not everyone happy to be spraying meth over their freshly waxed car etc)
Another guy mounted a tank at rear of bay which looked ok:

3 qt meth tank but can be used as a washer fluid tank running a line to washer pump.
This is a setup which I'll be going for

It's a pretty good idea though... you could put the new washer fluid tank where many people install their meth tanks (driver's side front)... then you have the bigger, more accessible factory tank being used for a much better purpose ... and as mentioned, it has the fluid level sensor.

Does the meth nozzle dribble when you use the wishield washer or does the meth pump have enough resistance to prevent that from happening?

Nozzles will dribble unless you have a solenoid close to the nozzle. The pump will(should) keep fluid from flowing (internal check valve), but only a solenoid can guarantee no drip. A check valve will stop the dripping after it's valve has closed.

What diameter is that hose that attaches to stock pump?

Our uk cars come with headlight washers which work on every fifth spray when lights are on... I'll get the bumper off for an investigation & meth install in a couple weeks time.

I believe 7/32" ID hose works well. It has to fit snugly over the meth hardline.

Just want to clarify something in this setup...

So for the mounting in the TB silicone your using just the washer on the inside and attaching the nozzle threw the silicone to the 90* fitting?

The reason I asked is I used the DO silicone adapter when I ran my TMIC setup and it always scared the shit out me the inner adapter was going to end up in my engine.(even with loctite on it) One of the reasons I didnt re-install my meth in the same manner on my fmic.. I want to get it hooked back up w/ my current setup and just trying to find the best nozzle mounting point

If this is the case are you using loctite or something to make sure it doesnt loosen? And how would you go about cleaning the filter using this method..

btw my setup is the original DO stage 2 progressive controller and I ran a DO3 nozzle w/ 25/75% mix.. kinda weak but kept BATs at bay in the summer months

Edit: Also would you reccomend using the "newer style" nozzles from DO which seem similar to the CoolingMist nozzles?
