Stratified Tune April 2013

Just finished up my tune with Mike!

The tuning process took almost the entire month, through 9 map iterations, to complete. Mike was very quick with sending me updated maps. Usually less than 24 hours after he received my logs; some as quick as a few hours! Had I been quicker with sending in my logs, I'd say the tune would've taken no longer than a couple of weeks.

As the weather started warming up during our tune, we had to make adjustments to combat the onset of knock. It worked out with my tuning goals, because I stressed to Mike the importance of the final tune handling 105F Arkansas summers and 32F winters, no matter the expense to HP/TQ. We made an effort to get my BATs as high as possible to see where the limits were, and made the appropriate compensations.

All said and done, from an OTS Stage 2 93 map to the Stratified tune, VirtualDyno showed a gain of 34HP/45TQ! That's not taking into account how much warmer the weather became towards the end of April! It's hilarious how little traction I have. I look forward to new, stickier tires.

Thanks again to Mike and the Stratified team! I'll be doing a top-up tune with them in the near future to take advantage of the abundant E85 fuel I have around here.
