Thumbs up Stratified tune done.

@Lex is awesome, that is all.

Mods: Sure intake + AT internals + SU testpipe + Strat tune = 290 hp 359 tq

Stock IC
Stock DP
Stock TIH
Stock plugs
Stock exhaust

took 5 revisions; I'm surprised the car respsonded this well with just these mods, I would say I couldn't be happier; Drives and feels amazing, best $200 spent.

Before my car would feel like i was getting hit in the back of the head with a brick when i hit the gas. Now it's a smoother, strong pull. It sounds weird saying that, but it gives more consistent power delivery, and more importantly is throughout the entire power band

yup, exactly as you all said, smooth power delivery that's there every time. I kinda cheaped out on the mods with just the bare essentials but was impressed also how well it responded. Looking forward to see bob-o's tune completed, that will be impressive and a good comparision to where he stands fully bolted vs mine barely bolted.

EDIT: btw this is all on shell 91, not even 93 or 94 octane.

what is needed for him to tune for you? Just an Access port?

I have an SRI and thats it mod wise. Not sure if i should get an AP yet if it is actually going to be beneficial

Should i get a custom tune right away? Or probably wait for another bolt on or two so its even more worth it. Use the stock tune on the AP for just my SRI, then when i get TIP, and maybe something else (FMIC, Downpipe/Racepipe) where ill sit there for a while, then do a custom tune

You can run the off the shelf tunes that match your current mods and once you've got all your mods then get a custom tune.

Yes, the tuner will email you the tune, which you then put on the AP and load onto the car.

Thanks man!

Im coming from a 93 ford probe gt, which i turbocharged on 10psi using a self built megasquirt standalone system. All my tuning was done by myself laptop in passenger seat, so its a little different with this speed3 haha. I've read so much already on this site, basically all the important stickies and im loving learning this new platform. Still have a lot to learn though!

Lex said i could make more power with all my crap. I dont want to, so he just made it more reliable. I'm around 344awhp. Good tradeoff to me! I'm already maxing the clutch and don't want bent rods.

Super happy with the tune. Once we get better FFS from Cobb released this car will be insane.

The PERM tuning network is fantastic. I recommend them highly.

Just wanted to put this log up on my last map, we weren't quite done earlier, but this is how the car performs on the last map. As you can see, I'm limited on top end flow, Targeted boost is 20.5, but I have no problems holding 21 in 4th and 5th @ midrange, which is quite impressive on stock DP/IC.

Ofcourse this run I didn't make as much power as the one I posted above, that was logged at night at much cooler temps, this was during the day, so temps do make a huge difference.

I'm going to borrow my friend's CPe TMIC and do a few logs to compare how much of a difference it makes, and if it is worth spending cash on it at this point.

I've done some testing with step colder as well as OEM plugs. I didn't see a significant change in knock going with one or the other but both sets were new and this is on a bolted K04. However the plugs should be in good shape and gapped to 0.026-0.028.
