No CEL, no hassle, no problems. Just results. No more thinking, no more searching. Edge Autosport, give them your credit card number. Then get your resnators and mufflers removed. Your car will be all shouty and assertive at all rev ranges.

| Not Ranked : 0 score after the past two weeks of reading and researching and rereading and trying to figure all of this out I'm just gonna get a Corksport. for the money it seems the best bet, so, JBR dogbone and CS SRI/TIP here I come! On a side note, I noticed the UR axle back exhaust is upgradeable to full cat back, if I just wanted some look and some noise for now would it hurt to put the axle back on with no tune? i figure since its after all the O2 sensors it shouldn't make any difference at all right? |

Go with Cobb, CS, SURE. Even cp-e. If you do a search you'll know why

| Not Ranked : 0 score I honestly don't know what you mean. I haven't read a single bad thing about K&N and everyone that has one has nothing bad to say about it, not to mention this intake, according to every internet forum I've ever read (including this one), never throws a CEL. What's wrong with the K&N? If you ask me, this intake gets flack for the simple fact that it isn't made by one of these MS3 specific companies and is looked at as "lame". As for performance/reliability, I can't see what there is not to like but maybe you can teach me something. |

This is just one example. You can search for more. K&N Typhoon SRI owners! (read through the whole thread) I've read issues of air straighteners (they have them/don't have them/fall off), fitment and MAF problems with fuel trims, etc. Bottom line, why pay so much money for an intake which may go wrong? Why not pay LESS money for a better quality intake which has been proven to work with your car by many good reviews on the forum. Just because "my boy says it won't throw a CEL" doesn't mean it's working properly. EDIT: Just saw you are the creator of this thread http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...8/#post1133050 I have nothing more to add

| Not Ranked : 0 score and i could post this: "I had the CP for like 5k miles and car started acting up. put the K&N SRI on there and solved all the problems. great feel, quality product and ive never been a K&N fan but it definately is a great product. would never buy it new though way tooo over priced." "I have the K&N SRI Typhoon... great quality no CELs, no problems yet. car runs great!" besides, doesn't every single SRI/CAI have a matching post to what you just cut and pasted? pick an intake, it'll take you 2 minutes to find someone on here telling you it threw a CEL, fuel trims were off, MAF problems, etc. etc. And what's this talk about "so much money"? It's routinely on ebay for around $240 shipped. I've seen plenty of CAI's for $300+ and the absolute cheapest sri i've seen is Cork Sport for $175. For a guy who spent THOUSANDS on modding his car, it sure surprises me to hear you saying $240 is a lot for a CAI. How much did you pay for your Cobb AP? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I paid 150 for my Cobb SRI, so I would say it's a lot more money than that. Hey if money isn't an issue for you then sell the fucking ms3 and get a Veyron. Then you don't have to worry about low rpm loss of power. I paid 550 for my AP, what's your point? Don't compare an intake with the greatest tuning device for our platform, brownie

| Not Ranked : 0 score Don't worry about what mods I have. This discussion is about a SRI. I am comparing K&N to the rest of the companies that make them. If you can get a better quality piece for a lower price, then you'd be retarded not to go for it. Many people have had issues with K&N, and many haven't. If K&N was cheaper or similarly priced as the rest, I could justify getting it. This is not the case.

people unanimously though say that every car is different from the next, which leads me to believe that one intake, or one down pipe, or one anything may work well for one guy's car but not for another. with all that said, i cannot see the sense in people saying that K&N, as a whole, is simply a shite intake because for every mod on your long list of mods adlpb, there's another guy out there unhappy with one of them, some of them or all of them. round and round we go. I think this website is a great source of information and I couldn't be happier that I found it but for all these posters out there claiming to be experts, they all sure seem to disagree a lot. Find me an intake and I'll find you 10 posters that love it and 100 posters that swear theirs is far better. Anyway, nice ride adlpb. I have the same exact car but a 2010 (minus your bells and whistles of course)

| Not Ranked : 0 score Alright go for it. Although you can get a CS SRI+TIP for around that price. But for some reason you want to stick to K&N. If you want it because of the advertised "24whp gain" let me just tell you that those numbers are blown out of proportion.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @MammaFreed3 So lets summarize... with K&N we have the possibility of getting a cel, and now your bringing up possible fitment issues. For 9$ more you could get a sri/tip combo....no cel, no fitment issues. For 34$ more you could get the sri/tip combo, and get rid of that ugly brown status. Seems like you just want to rehash what was already discussed in your other thread, so just buy the K&N already, install it and move on. If your happy with the result, fucking great. If not sell it. Pretty simple.

| Not Ranked : 0 score YUP. Like I stated before, a SRI is a SRI. You won't get gains between different brands, just difference in pricing, fitment and MAF issues.

| Not Ranked : 0 score After much debate, I picked up the Corksport SRI/TIP. I live in WA and drove down to Vancouver to scoop it up. Got home, threw it in, and am happy with it. It's my first of many mods over the year, but I'm sure it's going to work fine. What pushed me to get it was the fact that it's a combo, and for the price, it's hard to beat. It sounds good, and seems to be making a slight difference so far. I searched this website, and the net for a solid review on an intake, and this was the one I saw with the most positive reviews. Hope this helps. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Finally installed my K&N....that's right, my K&N SRI. Runs great, no CEL's, noticable HP gains over 3500 rpm with a real nice push at around 4200. Car seems to boost smoother now, I always had a slight sputtery boost but it has improved since the install. Installation was really easy, no fitment issues. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score K&N owner here. Never had an issue and recently got an AP, we will see how well it's actually been running following a MAF calibration and some logs. For those of you with the CS combo, I envy you for 100 extra I would have gotten a TIP and a air straightener. I paid $150 for the K&N from the VIP section here and I felt it was worth money and I still do. So far it's a great intake particularly for $150 and that's all I have to add to this thread. edit: b/c typing on the phone makes my comment sound like it came from a retard... maybe it did. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Read this entire thread from the beginning...was hoping to have more definitive answers but surely learned some things. Either way, can't wait to get my car when I am home from Afghanistan, and can't wait to mod the damn thing despite how nervous it makes me. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry for my confused question but I was looking here CorkSport Mazda Performance - Blog » Product Release! CorkSport Redesigned Turbo Inlet Pipe and it seems CS isn't selling a combination SRI/TIP. Did I miss something? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I am trying to read as much as I can before posting too much. I guess I am a bit confused because the link I provided is only for a TIP and I thought the CS intake was a combination of intake and TIP. So did they also redesign the combo, or do they now offer them separately? Is it a noticeable difference to go with separate peices rather than the combo piece? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score WHy would you want to do that? If you want a COBB TIH with a CS intake, then get the CS Stage one which is the inmate without the TIP |
