Are those numbers posted after the price supposed to be part numbers? If so, something's up at least with the Hawk pad numbers... Those are not the part numbers for the Hawk MS3 pads. These are: Hawk HPS Front: HB549F.702 Rear: HB478F.605 Hawk HP+ Front: HB549N.702 Rear: HB478N.605 I don't have the numbers for the Ceramics, but I'm guessing they're not right either... |

It looks as if Akebono finally got the idea that the ms3 has bigger brakes and is adding a euro 915 (a) ceramic. I will definitely be getting these. Great performance... minimal dust. They haven't been released yet, but I'm going to e-mail them tonight for an estimated release date. |

I purchased a set of Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads (front only) from Rock Auto for something ike $45 (before $15 mail-in rebate). You certainly get what you pay for. Do they stop you? Yes. Well? Not really. Conclusion: I wish I would have gotten something better but frankly spending $100+ for brake pads on my daily driver wasn't something I had considered. Please put these in your brake pad database as a "better than no brakes at all" contender. |
I am looking at getting the StopTech Drilled front and back with RedStuff in the back and YellowStuff in the front with the Techna-Fit SS for my Speed6. Anyone used that combination? P.S. Sry, dont mean to jack your thread, just need some pronto help :) |
My advice is to stay away from drilled rotors, for one. I've never used EBC products on my Mazda. I haven't used EBCs stuff since ~10 years ago after being wholly unimpressed with a set I had on my first Focus. |

Changed rotors/pads this weekend with Centric Premium rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Also flushed the system with Valvoline synthetic DOT3/4 fluid. As far as the pads go, the Hawk's definitely don't have the initial bite the OE pads do. Even with the OE pads down at 5mm, they still had more initial bite than the Hawks do which is amazing, but lay into the Hawks and they do stop just as good if not better. It just doesn't feel like it because you don't get that initial neck jerking of the stock pads, but make no mistake, the Hawks do perform. After bedding them in and putting about 100 miles on them already, I like the feel of the Hawk pads over the OE pads. |
