Again, no basis for that, but I find it hard to believe platforms such as the speeds and N54/N55 don't have aftermarket injector options and a 1 year old platform does. I also haven't come across any specs on the 2.3 so I don't even know if it comes with different injectors. Most I've heard is bored out, forged internals, and bigger turbo (k04?) but all of that is still just rumor.

I'll send you PM with the shop manual info.

Aahh I never thought of that, makes perfect sense. For all we know the 3.5 injectors may fir that head as well. AFAIK it's the weird design of our mitsubishi injectors that cuts us off from the aftermarket. I know the BMW uses piezo injectors which are a different design all together.

I guess eventually the industry will more or less standardize on DI and upgrades will be common. It's no different than the first EFI systems that people bitched about because they couldn't tune then like a carb.

Thanks again for the manual

TR3 tested their 6758 setup on the dyno today. They didn't say much except that they hit mid to high 300's and they found the limits of the hpfp. Stock clutch, intercooler and exhaust too apparently!

ATP has a dyno at 420 hp on a GXT3071R but no writeup yet. no idea if they added a fueling solution or stock.

They posted on their Instagram with a picture of the car on the dyno.

As far as ATP goes, they have a spec clutch in their car and told me that they're using some sort of "piggyback fueling solution" for those numbers.

Interesting... I'm looking into Spec's offerings, just unsure of which stage kit to go with. I'm waiting for Ocysp and ST3 4 Me to report back on chatter and livability of the clutches.

Have you checked with @kmac; on what clutch he is using. I think it is a Falcon clutch or something like that.

YEah, Kmac's clutch acted up a few months back and stopped him dead in his tracks during tuning. Id also send an email to ACT and South Bend, see if they will build a clutch setup for the ST. You also can talk to RED at McCleod.. IF you talk to RED, be sure to tell him you know Kevin from MSF. They will need a stock clutch disc and pp to build the system for the ST. Im sure you can scrap one up somewhere as people have gone through one already.

Got my Mountune FMIC in today. I'll be taking the parts over to Edge tomorrow for the meet and hopefully use their camera to take some pictures. Just need the exhaust and turbo now.

I do know some people have asked other companies if they're working on parts: ClutchMasters is working on a clutch/flywheel set, Fidanza is working on a flywheel. I'll ask a few guys on focusst.org if they'd be willing to send me their old units.

Update:
Car was suppose to go in yesterday for the mock up for the turbo; instead, got rear-ended by a semi:

Ollie is trying to find another car to use.

Going over to Edge in about an hour to have them install my FMIC and IC piping. Should be plenty of pictures as they're doing a write up on the front mount.

So, when I went over to Edge to install my FMIC, Alan noticed I was missing a bracket for the FMIC, so we weren't able to install it. I found the bracket at the bottom of the box, underneath one of the flaps. I installed the FMIC myself this pass weekend. Took a few hours, and I scratched up my front bumper a little, but it's on there. I didn't install the charge piping due to time, but I replaced the OEM clamps. Since Saturday, I've had a coupler pop off 3 times. Once at the cold side of the FMIC and twice at the turbo. I ordered some t-bolt clamps yesterday and should be here by the end of the week. Reflashed to a less aggressive tune until then.

Still no word on the adapter. Ollie's been busy building an axle-back exhaust while searching for another car. I was debating on just buying Mountune's T25 turbo adapter, but it seems a little steep when Ollie would just charge me the cost of material. Also, I'd would definitely need a new downpipe and maybe intake if I used the Mountune adapter as I don't know where the turbo connections would end up compared to stock.

I'm on my 3rd revision for my E85 tune from him. It feels like its around 270ish and vdyno confirms that it's in that area. I'm wondering if downpipe and exhaust would change that number drastically. I'm using ATP intercooler and Efi logic intake.

Sorry for the thread jack Chamber. I'd probably wait on ollie to finish your turbo adapter. Mountune's parts are insanely overpriced.

If for some reason the car doesn't come through this weekend for a mockup, I might just have Lex tune my car as is with an E85 mix, so I can compare a before and after with the new turbo.

I hate looking at my empty wallet and still not having a big turbo to show for it. All in due time.

Ah, got some confusion on this. The car that was rear ended was the car that Ollie was going to use for the mock up of the turbo adapter; not my car. He's in NC and I'm in CO so instead of me driving 1500 miles one way, he said he'd find a local. My car is nice and healthy in my garage and just needs a bath.

ahhhhhh You seemed strangely unconcerned for a guy whose brand new car just got rear ended... makes sense.

Teaser:

Update from Ollie:
"Matt just left the shop. Major kudos to him, he has the patience of a saint. Got quite a bit of stuff done today.

1. Built and installed a SS axleback, took video before and after, as well as detailed install pics. Ill put together a walkthrough to make it easy.
2. Same thing, with reso delete kit. I used the budget reso delete with a glasspack. Took video as well, and it really sounds killer.

3. Removed stock turbo, built adapter for Borg.
4. Built custom hardlines for water inlet/outlet. They will look/fit better than factory.
5. Took measurements for new oil feed and drain lines, they'll be very simple.
6. Built new lower FMIC pipe, to fit Borg. It's the same as my other sets, minus one bend.
7. Built new downpipe to fit Borg. Due to wastegate placement, I was unable to use factory/aftermarket std ST downpipe.

Ill post photos and stuff tomorrow, I was ready to hit the hay at 1pm yesterday, and my brain is more than a little fuzzy. Time for some shut eye."

Nice. I contacted Ollie about doing somethings to the speed3. I as well want some new hardlines for coolant and oil.

Update from Ollie:
"Re: lower pipe.. I'll have to trade it out with you. The couplers you have will work, but I added 10 degrees to the bend under the turbo, and removed one bend entirely. I used my last piece of 2.5" SS and nailed it on the first shot. Everything went awesome, the entire fabrication effort only took a few hours.. I had one of those days where I got everything spot-on. Honestly, I doubt I'll have it done by the 23rd. I'll do my best to put everything together, but I'm going to bet that the laser cutter won't have the headifold flange done by then. I'm kicking myself for not buying a Ford gasket, weeks ago. I will also need to fab up a heat shield for the fuel/brake lines running next to the turbine housing."

Should have an update this weekend. Last hurdle is rigging up an intake. The turbo sits too far towards the passenger side to just throw an elbow coupler and have it line up to the stock intake location. Once this is solved, the kit should be done and shipped out.

In other news, got Eibach rear and front sway bars, Whiteline adjustable endlinks, and rear Eibach Pro-kit springs in. Should be installing the front springs sometime this week.

Mountune is pretty gay as far as making power goes. They thought 330whp required completely building the block. Lmao.

The stock fuel system has shown its limits near 350-380whp. With these injectors, who knows! This is definitely good news, no matter how overpriced they may be. I know that PTP is developing a HPFP as well. Hopefully that won't blow goats though.
LOL MS3 likes this.

For sure those injectors are Ford off the shelf parts from a different application. Just like the VW cars. It really helps that the Ecoboost platform is global with many displacement engines. The smallest engines will probably benefit the most from the bigger brothers. Just wait until the 2.3 arrives in the Mustang and RS.
