I know that "ERL PERFORMANCE" make sleeve but you have to go through CP-E to get it done because they have some contract with them and CP-E want a lot of money for it like $2000 + SHIPPING just for sleeves. Darton is like $687 and they give you life time warranty on them and one year on the install it come out to $1287+ shipping..

Have you thought about an actual EMS Standalone? I have had a Haltech PS1000 running my engine for three summers now. it was a lot of work to figure out everything from scratch for my particular car, but is it delivers FLAWLESS control over Ignition and Fuel.

You Need Full Ignition control and tight control over fuel to push the type of numbers you plan to do.

Also, the closer you put the extra injectors, the less likely you will have a lean condition. It is quite a long distance that the extra fuel will have to travel in that manifold, to actually make it to the valves.
AFAIK Theres no standalone ECU that can run Direct Injection. I think there is Motec unit that can, butttt at like 4grand just for that...I dont think thats gonna happen.

I thought haltech was working on a direct injection ecu, but its not out yet.

Thats one of the issues we have, we dont have a true standalone. Some will argue that the AP is enough, I personally dont think so, as the stock ECU cant drive extra injectors like a standalone can.

Heck yeah!! I am going .060 ove on mine. I also have an spare block and cyl head. I will be sending the block to the machine shop as soon as I get the sleeves. The cyl. head and cams are already done. I will be selling my stock block and cylinder head as soon as I get the new stuff installed. Everything is going new on my build the only thing I got left after my build is the transmission and drive shafts. I will not mess with them until they start acting up. The turbo, intercooler w/piping, intake/exhaust manifold will be custom made to include inlet pipe and intake with a 3.5 mah housing. I have everything paid already just waiting for the sleeves to arrive and I will be back in bussines. I will not do a write up, but I will post pictures as soon as I start putting it together. What meth kit did you go with? I am going with the DO stage I and the cpe profuel controller, but I will be tunning with cobb. I already had cpe so I will keep it.

You shouldn't have to worry about the transmission or the driveshafts. Those are the one thing on these cars that is bullet proof. As long as they are taken care of then there is no reason you cannot get 700hp/700tq out of them reliably. There are several racing teams as well as private cars that are pushing upper 600's out of them.

Probably a good idea to use the port additional injector for fueling, you can change injector sizes easily that way based on need, but are you going to tap into the pre-hpfp line to feed the additional injectors, and then are you going to upgrade the in-tank pump?

Looks sick!

Thats one of the issues we have, we dont have a true standalone. Some will argue that the AP is enough, I personally dont think so, as the stock ECU cant drive extra injectors like a standalone can.
You can u you aem standlone for the mazdaspeed 6 I was look in to it just have to found the one that is compatible for drive by wire and wire it up with Patch/Extension Harnesses ... remeber the mazdaspeed 6 injector driver module is not build in to the pcm unlike the 3 and cx-7

This

AdrenalineRush doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. I'm really interested to see how the additional injectors work. I still think that port injection in the manifold is the way to go on these cars, but the other option is interesting as well

That's what I'm planning to do on mine after the nitrous goes on... I still need to find the controller that I'm going to be using, but I'll definitely be interested to see how this goes.

Best of luck man!

Darton sleeves, while great, are only as good as your machinist IME.

ERL is superior IMHO. The funny thing about it is that CP-E has nothing to do with the blocks they're selling, which is a good thing. lol

That good any head work going to be done...I am not sure if i am going to be running a meth kit because I am going to be running race fuel only on high boost with the second set of injector on the intake manifold.
I have found the ones that i am going to be using just have to get it weld it on the manifold..

Wouldn't be dangerous to have that extra injector located in the manifold?
I have a friend that did that on a VW Jetta and the intake manifold literally exploded in pieces!

I have a friend that did that on a VW Jetta and the intake manifold literally exploded in pieces!

You just need something like this on the manifold:

The spring is strong enough to hold the plate down under boost pressure but if the gas in the manifold ignites the valve opens so you don't blow your manifold to pieces.

With many cars you should never need this and it's just an extra safety thing... If you run a Haltech ECU, all spark plugs are fired when you power up the ECU so if any of the intake valves are open you can get a nasty backfire just from the residual fuel from standard port injection - I've seen manifolds blown apart just from that.

Very nice! I had no clue comptech sold stuff for the speed... I had some of their stuff on my acura. Do you have an approximate time frame for the build? Best of luck.

I'll be on my honeymoon for the first half of October so I'll be looking forward to some results when I get back!
