Damond Motorsports MS3 PMM

Y'all have been wanting us to do passenger mount since we've released our RMM, and we've been working on it.

Here's a teaser of the 3D model. We should have this mounted on our tester's car very soon, and we'll keep this thread updated with our findings.

The bushing orientation should be an optimal pair for our RMM, and we're hoping to keep vibrations fairly minimal.

Compliments go to Farhan for the design.

How thin is the material where the two bolts go through? I am not an engineer but this seems like a weak spot....

I'll wait for Farhan to chime in, as I think he had a stress analysis done on that piece in CAD.

So glad you asked. Your intuition is right. That is the high load part, and stress is multiplied at the weld. Still tweaking the design, it will be overkill before it's released. Sample of what we're doing to insure it lives is attached. The other pieces aren't even worth mentioning, they just laugh at a simulated 700 ft-lbs.

Edit: Before anyone asks, yes the RMM went through this. It also laughs at silly little mazdaspeeds.

Amazing:You_Rock_Emoticon:. Gimme! Gimme! I will test it running from the police!

Hope to have an update on testing in about a week.

Nope, you said A week.

When you start saying two weeks, then you're done for. :crucified:

Just kidding.

monkey.bones.007 10-13-2014 04:35 PM

When can we expect a Damond Motorsports ebcs?

Alpha testing has gone better than expected. Our Alpha tester is usually pretty toned down, and he went as far as saying 'This is a lot better than I expected.' He put it somewhere around '10 times better' for vibes than the competitor PMM he's been running, with grabbing the motor just as well.

We are going to go through a relatively minor redesign for some small clearance changes that will ease install, as well as a little strenghtning it. I'm not satisfied with it only being good for 500 ft-lbs dumps.

Potential beta testers will hear from me in the coming weeks.

Sorry for being a couple days late, even though I said about one week. Oversized pics at the links.

I would love to test this, had a CPE 70(75?)duro PMM in before. Loved the response, hated all the extra vibrations, still looking for one though...

Make a trany already.... Ehhh.............mount.

cshunter 10-22-2014 08:56 PM

My engine told me a secret today, it said that it wanted your goodness, not only in the rear, but on the side too.

Yatta 10-22-2014 09:51 PM

I've been mulling over what to do with my CS pmm, love what it does but do not love the 2k-3k rev range and the passenger door trim rattle, I've played games with mount alignment and a torque wrench but have decided that it is not a daily driver mount (70+ miles a day) will be watching this one closely.

But it isn't respectable. It's mildly terrifying. And that actually makes it quite appealing. - Mazda 3 MPS review, Matthew Jones, Top Gear.

If you're using solidworks you can tweak this stuff but adding to about those joints-if the whole thing is going to be a single piece, then that spot might need a lil more material. Looks like a solid design though :D

jdmage_mx5 10-22-2014 10:19 PM

I ran the Corksport PMM for a while and eventually caved. After going back to OEM I can say all the false hope instilled by the CS videos proved to be false. My shit vibrated everywhere. Overall engine/trans noise was transferred into the cabin so loudly I had to crank my radio a lot just to hear it. I will say I'm a picky SOB so it could be I held it to higher standards then I should have, either way it had to go. I look forward to the reviews of this mount.

Shampu 10-23-2014 02:01 PM

Wow, I missed this thread completely. Was literally thinking a few nights ago that you should make them. I think I found my first Damond Motorsports part! I wanna be a test dummy! :p

Yatta 10-23-2014 02:07 PM

would love to test this as well, back to back with the CS PMM would be interesting.

Lacey28 10-23-2014 03:07 PM

Would like to test this. I already have u rmm in and a jbr pmm rn

azarashi 10-23-2014 03:43 PM

Since everyone is asking I would too love to test my stock PMM is bad anyways and im replacing it this weekend with a ROCA mount

monkey.bones.007 10-23-2014 04:02 PM

I had the JBR trilogy 88duro until I swapped out my rear mount for the damond mount. I did one mount at a time and it wasn't until I swapped my passenger mount that things got electric. My car was the biggest sex toy ever. I'd be interested in the change from the JBR 88d passenger mount as my rear mount definitely dropped some of the nvh. I'm glad to see more people supporting the speed platform. It is a win for us all.

macdiesel 10-23-2014 06:10 PM

Any chance the mount was tested on a car with the balance shaft deleted?

PUGENE 10-24-2014 09:36 AM

What a coincidence, the only mount I have left to purchase...

Ma77 10-24-2014 10:44 AM

Dammit just order some other mounts two days ago. Oh well they'll be better than what I have already.

Looking good though nice to see more options.

EvoFire 10-27-2014 03:28 PM

So I saw beta testing? Are those all full?

Lacey28 10-27-2014 04:45 PM

Or any updates at all @Farhan@DM;

Yatta 10-27-2014 05:04 PM

Almost removed my CS PMM this weekend, thinking the original wasn’t so bad :(

Lacey28 10-27-2014 06:27 PM

Anyone have a stock pmm laying around

We are happy with what we're seeing, and are moving to beta testing. Beta testers should hear from Matt or myself in the next 2 weeks, and have parts in hand by the end of November. How fast we move from there will be in their hands.

Mazdazilla6 10-29-2014 02:57 PM

You guys spelled MS6 wrong.

Will this help me satisfy my wife in the bedroom?

I'm told it will make you cock bigger, but vibrate things less. So it depends on if you know how to use it or not.

I'll gladly teach you some things on your wife, just for you homie. [emoji6]
