(Thread Starter) | Neutral : +1 score Damond Motorsport’s guys are all Mazdaspeed owners and drivers and it is really cool to see such nice, useful and well-designed mods for our cars come out of these grassroots shops, imo. Obviously, the pics are of a methanol injection throttle body spacer, and just as obvious is the spacer’s overall quality. I like a few things about this particular plate, the overall size of the plate is very compact…, # of possible nozzle angles/ combinations and its versatility are killer, imo. I’ve had a similar design on my car now for a while, and really think that these plates may benefit everyone from the k04 guys spraying relatively small amounts of meth to the guys making tons of HP… What you get is a streamlined nozzle mounting solution that keeps your cold piping from becoming swiss cheese in what I think is an ideal place to spray… Nozzle orifice depth is perfect, and the fan angle is in no way interrupted like some of the deep bungs and silicone mounts available. Another very well designed, made and useful mod to come to our platform from Damond Motorsports. Last edited by rfinkle2; 10-09-2014 at 09:06 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score So quick question, if you have say...a JBR TB TIG....should you uninstall it when installing this spacer? I realize it does not do a whole lot especially with the coolant bypass but just curious about the proper way to go about the installation. P.S. thank you for the review. IIRC you were testing the one for JMF also. Any thoughts for comparisons sake or is that a debate better saved for another thread?

You could always source longer bolts, but personally I wouldn't waste the time. EDIT: It should work with the TIG as stated a few posts below.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Why would it not work with a JBR TIG? It's just 0.062 thick Surely the bolts must be long enough to thread deep enough even with a thicker gasket?

If it's close to OEM gasket thickness it should work fine. I do stand by the thought that it's unnecessary though.

Various chemicals, varying temperatures, and installing without having full line of site makes this a non trivial application. Of course, the right o-ring can do the job, but I'm not comfortable releasing an o-ring into an application like this that I haven't vigorously tested. Additionally, if you're ever in need of a new gasket, the local Mazda dealer has you covered without having to guess material compatibility. tl;dr: Because I trust the OEM gasket to do the job well.
