It wasn't clear because it seems like anyone who purchased the restrictor bolt is trying to fix a turbo that was already smoking.
I don't have a smoking turbo. I just want to prevent it from happening in the future. I already replaced my bolt.

Doesn't ATP sell restrictor bolts? I don't know if this works for you though...as I am not familiar with ATP GTX3076R setup.

Lots of info in this thread, including talk of needing/not needing an oil restrictor: http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/for...tx3076-123861/

Thanks! I can't remember if I've seen this before... on Garrett's site, they say use a minimum 0.040" restrictor and the ATP one is 0.035" which is smaller than Garrett's specification.. Guess I'll have to call ATP to ask why they went smaller than Garrett specifies...

Sorry to revive an old thread.. but i have been looking and can't really find alot of info on this. But a few people told me that using the restrictor bolt is bad for the turbo since the ko4 requires so much oil.

Any thoughts on how the restrictor bolt affects the turbo?

There is some info already on the damond website under product description. Read the knowledge base on this forum regarding the turbo. All the info is there
