(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This idea started out as just a little station to disassemble/Assemble heads. I've used other valve spring compressors in the past and never loved any of them 100%, so this lever action compressor is what I really wanted for speed and easy of use. Wellll then I started doin what I do best and morphing this idea into a way to help me in other areas too, other than just having a valve spring compressor. So the final product is a combo station that has mobile tray table made of angle iron and 1/4" plate that can be set at different points to allow perfect angles for porting and welding. Also tons of spots I can ground on and clamp onto which makes welding/fixturing extremely easy. Oh and I added some big 1/2" bolts to each corner for leveling the table. Beyond excited to start a lot of new projects with this thing. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ill be doing a head on it Tuesday nihht and ill post pics. I didnt have pics yet but the last picture is of the actual spring compressor tool. It has through holes that allow it to mount to the handle mounted on the crossbar. This makes the handle act as a lever, pushing down and popping loose the springs. Im also drilling/tapping holes in my plates for head bolts whuch ill use to secure hrads for porting when I raise the table to 45 or 60*. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I recently bought Lincoln Precision Tig 225 and so far I love it. Lights up really consistently at even very low amperage and has plennnty of power for anything I will ever need it for. Haven't gotten to weld any nice material yet to really show what it can do, but since I sold all my hot parts to buy the welder, I'll be starting to fab all my new hotparts here after I assemble the new engine. I'll post a lot along the way as I build new random stuff too. Yeah yeah we had shitty shitty weather here and I didn't get the head finished or take pics yet. It's working really well though. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is the type of stand I've used to disassemble heads myself. Yous looks similar in function.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah this is the one we have at my old shop. The arm slides side to side and has a hand knob that cranks and compresses the spring. the clamps hold it while the table tilts front and back to get each bank.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Some random welding from yesterday. The table is just a nice, versatile little station to weld stuff on. As I work with fixturing stuff on it, I'm thinking of different tweaks I'll be making and different clamps I wanna buy to make it all even easier. The aluminum pipe pick is just different stuff I was playing with yesterday. Welding forward and backward, different amps, different cups and gas settings, etc. The crank pulley is mine that I tack welded so the trigger wheel doesn't spin. It was a bitch because there was sooooo much oil soaked into that metal. The downpipe is a local guy who had an e-cutout y-pipe there and wanted it replaced with a straight pipe. This is the first stainless I've done with this setup and it welded pretty decent for a used pipe with a ton of soot inside. Excited to start on my turbo kit in the next month or so though, since that'll be the first brand new metal I get to work with. |
