If only there was a website I could type my question into and have it search the entire internet for answers relating to that particular question. If I created a website like that I would call it Google or something stupid like that...

You get one, you noodle. I literally typed in "front mount intercooler speed6". 4th link down.

I know I did do research through google and other searches. I'm trying to find out through personal experience. About $800 is a good average price for the FMIC. I just want opinions.

No help at all? Okay. Let's break this down for you before you get salty. You asked:

That is a subjective question. What breaks the bank for a college student on a budget is different than a 30 year old with a steady job. So we're just supposed to assume what the threshold is for you? Got it, cool. You also provided no other information for us to assist you, like what car and what gen you have. That changes the options and opinions you will get as some FMIC kits aren't available for the speed6 and some aren't cross-gen compatible. Sure, we could look up your intro post but why should we research something for YOU when you're asking US for our opinion. Provide some reference points for us to help give you a more focused answer.

Listing some of the options you have found during your own research will help us give you even more focused information. When you don't list the options you're interested in, it comes off as you're being lazy and not wanting to put some leg work into your own car. So while you sit there and try to flame us for not being helpful and this forum being full of ignorance, think twice because there are a lot of members here that put a lot of time and energy into the detailed lists in the sticky threads that include that FMIC thread I linked above. So in reality you're the only person in this thread not being helpful. Pot meet kettle.

Good luck on your search. Sounds like you're done with this forum either way so don't let the door hit you on the way out as you keep talking that bullshit.

I thank you for your response, and you are very correct. I did not put any information on my current vehicle. When I stated about the ignorance it was about the unnecessary comments. But I did the ball rolling with not giving the proper information. I am not leaving the forums there is a lot of useful info out there. I will put leg work into this car like I did my pass car. I'm a 28 yr old working the military. So to get the correct info out there. I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6. Looking for a good quality FMIC. Most I have seen are about $800. I would like to know which brand is actually worth that money? And if there is a better brand at a cheaper price? Thank you for time.

Yea I saw both of the companies. I just wanted to see what other people's opinions are. Thanks for adding some pros for them.

Personally like the look of this vertical flow FMIC. Says it works for both speed 3/6.

First how much hp does the full race support? i think the treadstone is lighter as well... i am not a TR10 salesperson but i think that is the best bang for the BUCK all around(cost, weight, supported hp, fitment and price) This is just my opinion.. You can get the TR10 for about 350, piping about 150, BOV about 200-250 that is about 7-800 bucks!!

google search images..

https://images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/...g&action=click

those images are of my car the black car.. photofuckyou wont post them third party..

go to the fb groups and buy a kit used. higher quality at lower price.

or get cx piping + TR8 if you're going to be pushing 500hp or less. above 500 go TR10 series for the core.

I'm still sporting the stock TMIC, but currently gathering parts to make my own L2A using Treadstone cores. Because I want to be different.

Not sure how much it will support. But from what I know of full race they make very high quality products. I wish there were pictures of one fully installed I'd like to see how they plumb the outlet pipe since it goes out the same side it comes in

I did some research and the full race turbo kit with the fmic made 409 whp and 437 wtq so I'm assuming it flows decently.

They didn't have issues with heat soak at all so I assume it'll handle more. It's pricey though, $1600+

Ok man. CPE TMIC. Cheaper then the ETS (performance is on par) and performs better then the Corksport (marginally). Unless you're going for 450hp+ this TMIC will serve you well. FMIC depending on the size will block air flow to your radiator. Stop overthinking things, unless you're making a drag queen.

I did look into just keeping the TMIC, I just didn't know if it support power over 350. I am looking to completely build my engine and what not. The goal is to get over 400.

No upgrade the top mount. CPE is the best bang for your buck. Dale took some data and basically the CPE flows just slightly less then the ETS. He then switched to a FMIC. Basically if you're not dedicating it to track duty a TMIC will do well. Just my two pesos. Research and search and see what suits your needs.

I did that too, but strangely enough, I decided on L2A. Quite a bit more expensive and probably not as good as the tried and true FMIC. Sounds crazy when I put it that way, but whatever.
Going away from the top mount because...well...it's a top mount. Nuf said.

FWIW, I just went fmic bc my tmic (CS) was absolutely not able to handle the heat after i swapped the k04 for CS turbo back in May. BATs were climbing to over 150* over the course of a fourth gear pull, so i snagged a Cobb fmic off fb and now boost temps sit at 100* under the same weather conditions. coolant temps are higher with the radiator blocked, so now I'm planning to add an aux fan controller. no regrets with the switch, myself, but if you plan to run WMI then you can quite possibly get away with tmic.
