| Not Ranked : 0 score Awesome work. I assume hp is estimated at the crank to avoid FWHP/AWHP confusion. Suggestions to add; 1) stock TMIC/ u/g TMIC/ FMIC 2) exhaust mods 3) stock vs forged internals and head studs etc.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Let me know what you mean in terms of clarification. In general, if you spray enough meth, it will replace the octane bump given by the e85. E85 is usually sprayed from the factory tank, through a port injection system. Whatever you guys think needs clarifying, I'll make it happen. Last edited by rfinkle2; 10-11-2014 at 09:23 AM. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I think that would be a good idea, but what I'm trying to do is make a HP mod path based on what are widely generally accepted facts vs opinions on what should be needed. I guess the argument could be made that a RMM is essential if your car is making 350 hp, but I'd prefer the owner of the car choose the duro they are comfortable with etc. E.g. people might think I'm nuts, but my car has never had anything but a RMM on it, and although I may put a PMM or TMM @ some point, I don't feel it necessary @ my power level. I'm not sure what power level they are needed really. Same goes for plugs.. I am out in left field with my opinions on plugs, and I see some guys running stock range plugs making big HP, so there are a lot of what if's that are hard to cover with things that are probably best left up to the tuner or car owner. I don't want to shoot down anyone's suggestions, and the mount idea was a good one, and I definitely considered it.. so please, keep the suggestions coming and they are appreciated. | Not Ranked : 0 score Since Rob is just a hardParker we have no way of substantiating those gains. Regardless of hp level spark plugs are entirely use dependent. Stock range are great for a bajillion horsepower if you dd the car with the occasional WOT. if you WOT everywhere on a tuned stock turbo you probably need colder plugs.

This could open a can of worms. Since I don't want to cause Justin a headache, I'm going to get with him in terms of what he want to put up power level wise and go from there. Next edit, Easter bunny hugs goes under every hp level.@Easter Bunny; v7 is live LOL Last edited by rfinkle2; 10-11-2014 at 07:54 PM. Reason: MSF Database - Automerged Doublepost | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Maybe it's just worth mentioning the RMM and the colder plugs options in the sheet? That way you are not telling somebody what to do, but at least you have pointed it out so one can look at it and replace them when they find it necessary?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Mounts are not a necessity and driver preference. Just my opinion. Lol. I only have a rmm on my car. And I track the shit out if it, as well as drive the car VERY hard. And I also say leave plugs up to specific tuner. I can tell you that 99% of issues while tuning are from plugs and boost leaks. I honestly go by the old school method of reading the plug to see if a colder plug is needed and if while tuning I'm more than happy to look at pics and help determine if it's needed. I will also never recommend denso plugs. NGK or bust. Lol Btw very nice list Rob and this will be a nice reference for people to check out and get an idea of what they need for power goals

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I have a good idea based on the feedback this far. I think we can all agree a rmm is a necessity, and plugs could very well be too, so I'll @ least make a note that there is some question as to what to use, but they may be needed. Compromise! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sounds like they've been getting a lot of questions. I know I have many, but know these two are busy so was searching/reading until my eyes bled yesterday, including an old thread Freek and finkle compared a BNR to a 3071 and subsequent 2871 (or was it the gtx2867). This really helps answer some of the questions I had.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score In general, both Justin and I agree for a quick punching turbo up to around 400 hp, the 2871 is our choice. For something a little more top end friendly, with the capability of going beyond 400 in the future, the gtx3076 is our favorite (assuming you are looking @ Garretts).

| Not Ranked : 0 score One thing I've noticed on here, is guys always want to go colder on the plugs. Reading your plugs is essential. Justin touched on it, but it isn't as easy as just going for a drive and popping them out. In a lot of cases, with many of us running large quantities of alcohol, I'd wager a bet that many could benefit from going to a hotter plug to help with a more complete burn.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I would love to see an internals section on here when we are talking about HP numbers. What internals are necessary for what hp levels, obviously i know anything past 400 will need a built motor but how heavily built? If I want 500 vs 800 my internal set up will be different. At what point in time is head work necessary? H beam or I beam? upgraded head studs and not just some regular arp but the upgraded one? When is boring necessary? What about pistons ad the correct piston choice for your HP levels? Possibly even include what meth kit or aux fueling options and at what HP level you need to look into this. -granted there is a note on the file it might be cool to see when you actually need it and how much is needed. The 800hp guys probably aren't just on some PI set up I'm looking to build my motor in the next year or so and all of these questions have popped up. Do I just go balls to the wall or at what point are the upgrades unnecessary for my HP numbers
