Default HPFP squeaking noise

Hey Justin. I am absolutely loving the tune. The car drives fantastic, and has the power right where I need it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPKubctncp8

Apparently this squeaking noise is the HPFP. Peeps are saying that adjusting the HPFP demand can fix this. It happens on cold starts, and kicks in right around 1700 RPM. Do you have any experience with this issue? Can I fix it myself?

My Autotechs squeaked from the day I installed them. No harm ever came from it.

Well I was just wondering myself...after reading all the threads done about this noise I feel WAY better... I definitely don't feel like the car or the logs are problematic but I was actually gonna get the car in for a checkup because of this...

Mine makes it too. I just figured it was associated with the fuel pump being cold.

The bird chirp is from the relief valve....mine has been doing this forever on cold starts. I've been told if its ONLY on cold starts its nothing to worry about.

You can stop it from happening by lowering the commanded fuel pressure in those low rpm/low load situations in the HPFP tables. I've lowered mine to 1520psi, haven't heard anything, and still works properly.

If you accelerate slowly, no boost, does it always kick in at the same RPM? If so, is it constant as revs increase? I'm having a weird squeal under those conditions, but it kicks in at 3200rpm when the engine is cold.

Sounds awful, squeals at any RPM above that with the same frequency. I can't tell if it's a mechanical sound or if it's air leaking from somewhere, but this sounds similar, so I'm curious if the sound continues as you accelerate slowly.

No, it only happens as the car drops in RPM at idle, on a cold start. My car starts at around 2100 RPM, then as it hits 1700 on the way down it makes the noise. If you watch the video, you can see that there is absolutely no revving going on. And then I do not hear it again until the next cold start........

Anyone come across this noise?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSlZtgqpZQA

It happens during colds start (-15°C) or so. At first I was thinking fuel pump but sounds like it's coming from dash.

Default HPFP squeaking noise

Mine made a slight whine when my relief valve was on the verge of turning into a disaster. Worth a look in my option. When I replaced the RV my whine went away

Stupid app doesn't wanna play videos for some reason so I can't hear if it's the same noise

It's not really a whine, it literally sounds like a duck quacking. Quite funny when people are walking by. But I'll take a look at the RV just to be safe

Someone say duck call?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pbUMXZvfi8
I get a quick squeek/chirp sound from what I believe are my HPFP internals, but usually only on cold starts when it's around 60 or below outside. But I think we've all deduced that it can be fixed with a couple map adjustments.
This is something I've not heard. Spencer seems to have a good theory.
