This is still happening even if WGDC is set to 0! How can I make sure the ECU is tracking/enforcing the boost target accurately? How do I know the Wastegate Dynamics boost error compensation are working? Any pointer would be appreciated. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score keep in mind your car is not a software but a mechanic device that first react to the mechanical parts and then, is adjusted by electronic. Your turbo waste gate has a spring that request a minimum of 7-8psi to start opening but the turbine keep receiving a bit of flow at this point and stabilize somewhere around 11 before anything electric happen.... The only way the ecu can reduce boost below that, is to cut close the throttle body or cut fuel in case of emergency.... If you want to turn your car into n/a, you would need to change mecanic parts.... Also keep in mind your car has a lot more tables than the ones you can see with your cobb....and sometimes more than 1 will affect the same output. the real question is why would you achieve 0psi ?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ah the ATR guide/wiki doesn't explain that hardware limitation so this makes me a noob. But then I see the boost target in the part throttle region in the negative range so I thought it can be tuned to any set point desired.
Thanks @Jeff23spl Last edited by vtdone; 10-13-2019 at 03:10 AM. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You should read a lill more about engines and how turbo works, even if you find a way to 0 out the boost, turbo will keep spinning and be feed by oil and coolant... i think some diesel turbo work without mechanical spring but it isn't our case. I never tried but maybe installing a one-way valve on the BPV to only allow vacuum could keep it open to cancel boost....but turbo would probably overspeed.... Anyway, you would better repair it than try to find band aids... after replacing pcv, if you engine leak down or compression is ok, replace the turbo... you can find new chra for very cheap these days...
