Look at the midrange, noting its a mustang awd dyno and 6000+ ft elevation. I betcha on a dynojet, damn near sea level, the gains are higher. I know i want one just so i can get a custom tune for my specific mods and more timing for WI.

Hmm, interesting. Let's see what the tuner software involves. We may be able to play with the throttle body and other parameters Cobb specifically didnt use because of liability. Custom tuning is the only way to go on these things. Im pretty optimistic and can see something good down the road coming from this.

Well Pest, you cant go solely by Cobb's numbers. They have several variables that are stealing high hp numbers IE: Dyno AWD + High Altitude.

i betcha this thing making more horsepower than that. I knew this was going to happen when they released the numbers. I saw the same thing years ago for the STi, but when people dyno'd themselves, they were flying off the shelves because their own personally numbers were much higher.

whats the boost set too. Whyare these 91 octane maps? Do they have a i/tbe/fmic stage 2 map? I remember josh over at cobb saying one number was over 300 on their dyno and the other was close to it.

I know that Josh has said lots of times they have sea level tuners working on the maps too..... %85 of the US has 93 why not drop it with a 93 map ??

The > 300 WTQ Cobb was getting was for AP + SRI + TBE + FMIC. Pretty sure it was on their awd dyno in Utah.

this is a joke right? this "tune" can be accompolished with a mbc for much cheaper and ill put money on it, that it would make more power 2 lol

what with the wavy tq/hp lines on stage 2.....detonating running out of fuel much?

Chris, these are base maps... not fully tuned, lets break record tunes. Base tunes are avg joe tunes. i bet if you had one of these things and went to a Cobb tuner to get a tune made specifically for your car and its mods, you would walk away with a much much higher dyno number and for once, a happy MS3 owner.

yeah, he said another map/setup was close to 300 (Stage 2 im assuming). He said FMIC didnt really add much power on the dyno, it was just a means of more consistent power. Either there's some sort of typo/confusion with the dynos that were posted or Stage 2 power is down a little from what it was before?

you could accomplish what they did by simply raising the boost 2lbs and holding it. This reminds of what cpe did with their bullshit dual maps that did nothing but raise boost. Its a joke.

How do you figure? Look at the damn graph and check out the curves! When you tune a car, the first thing you want is a flat, consistant curve, both for HP & Tq.. You dont want it to be like waves.

Mrlilguy needs to send Cobb a CDFP to test with their AP on the dyno.. i bet they see better results.

And I thought altitude is irrelevent in a turbo car... not to mention the dynos show gain, before and after.

Now if thats on stock boost then maybe I'll get a little more excited.... but if thats got more boost than this is broke dick city for all the cobble cobble guys.

Thats lame they only upped the boost 2 lbs... I would have gone 2.5lbs. They might have eeked out an extra 5whp.... then we could say our AP is better than the rx8 guys..

Randy, who the hell told you altitude doesnt affect forced induction cars? Whomever told you that, should be slapped in the face with a dirty cock!

Altitude and humidity affect turbo/supercharged cars considerably. High altitude makes them run rich as well. Humidity kills the horsepower.

Altitude isn't irrelevant, just not as much loss as a NA car. Like 70% NA vs. 85% FI (WAG on the numbers) correction factor or something.

As for the graphs, I'd really like to see a stock+intake vs. a stock+intake+AP. It's hard to say that they lost 1 HP by adding the AP because that was on a different day with a different car. From the initial graphs though, I'd say people won't be buying the AP just for the base maps.

Pale you're so defensive about your xede Slap a xede onto a stock car and I doubt it makes fantastic numbers/graphs in comparison. For people like you with a ton of mods, the AP won't matter until they release the tuner software for it anyway, not sure what you're bashing in that regard.

That said, until they have more specifics of the AP relative to the SRI and boost levels as loosh mentioned, it's hard to get excited about it as a standalone performance mod for me.

Like i said, basemaps are for chumps. Diablosport had the same prob. They had basemaps and until you went and had a custom dyno, you would not see the benefits of their tuning. I see the same happening here.

It affects them less than NA cars and that is a fact. CF for NA at altitude is considerably higher than a turbo car. Thats why Josh dynoed 345/375 with like 29% CF up in Colorado with a standback tune and everybody went apeshit until they saw his correction factor.

Bottom line is if they were using CF than the altitude has fucking nothing to do with these results.... and if they were using no CF.... than these results are about as useless as a fucking butt dyno.

The results show a before and an after and the difference is pathetic. Less than most boltons.... on a stock car. Racepipes gain more over stock.

The AP is a letdown.... its official. Any other spin that gets put on this wont make it through the night.
