FP question

Hey guys and girls quick question,

I have the ultra gauge which monitors FP. My 2006 MS6 has 45000 miles and mods are: RMM, SURE Intake, and SU Testpipe. During WOT my ultra gauge always shows that I am at or above 1600 PSI, and very frequently gets into the 1700 PSI range. I thought this is great, no need for for FP internals yet. But anyways, since my ultra gauge doesn't log, is it possible that I am dropping into danger levels for FP and not even knowing it because I don't have the ability to log? Would the refresh rate of the ultra gauge be too slow to show possible dips below 1600? Should I be worried with my mods?

I searched around but couldn't really find an answer my my exact question, but if its out there please let me know and i'll continue searching for it.

buy an AP. I was shwoing slid pressure while live monotering and my log showed me dipping under 1000 psi.

I'm not going to advocate one logging option over another. I use ScanXL Pro with Mazda specific PID's connected to a very fast laptop. It's way more advanced than AP, Dash Hawk or other hand-held stuff. It has a Dashboard mode, but is obviously not a good choice to use with a laptop on the passenger seat! It's value is datalogging of as many or more than 300 parameters including every engine, transmission, drivetrain, brakes, electrical system, safety equipment (air bags), tire pressure, etc. Any and everything the OBDII port can capture from any sensor for any function anywhere in the car. I doubt most guys would want or need that level of diagnostic or datalogging capability.

But the point by the poster immediately above is a valid one. I caught transient drops in fuel rail pressure down to 1100 psi with datalogging (much shorter than 1/2 second) that would not have shown up with real time monitoring.

Thanks for your reply. Ive decided I'm going to go back completely to stock until I have the spare money for internals and an AP, just so I don't have to worry in the mean time.
