| Not Ranked : 0 score Your fuel preassure looks great! what mods do you have? and also boost is holding very well
Your mods are pretty much perfect for the hypertech and with your Ets tmic it should help lean out your afr alittle so its not piggy rich, Im running a fmic and my afr is normal at idle and hits between 11.8-12.0 at wot but most people running near stock are seeing more towards 11.0-11.5 at wot wich is kinda rich but safe.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah I placed my order right after saying I'd wait a week. Took my motorcycle out and got an email while I was out saying my order had shipped already! I'm guessing I'll have it by mid week! Based on what I've read here I'm really excited about this. I"ll post some feedback for sure once I get it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Very easing quote from Chris at Hyper Tech Here's the basics on how it works: The Max Energy Sport is a programmer. It plugs into the diagnostic port, and reflashes the car's ECU with the Hypertech tuning files. It stores a copy of the stock calibration files for that vehicle, so that it can be returned to stock at any time. The programmer doesn't stay plugged in, and doesn't have any PID monitoring functions. It will read and clear DTC's. It has options to raise the top speed limiter, and raise or lower the engine rev limiter. Every product that Hypertech sells is 50-state emission legal. The tuning for the Mazda vehicles is currently pending CARB certification, and will be 50 state legal when the certification procedure is complete. All of our products are designed to work in the limits of the vehicle as designed by the OEM. Our tuning will not void your factory warranty, or cause damage to any factory engine, drivetrain, or emission component covered under your factory warranty. Since we advertise and sell our products to be warranty safe and emission legal, we don't offer any custom tuning options in our programmer. You do not have to have any knowledge of tuning to use our products. We leave the boost cut and load cut limiters in place in our tuning to protect the engine from a mechanical failure that may cause destruction if these limiters are removed. With the air mass calculations correctly measured, these limits can be used just like the factory tuning uses them. Thanks. Chris |

| 54 HP... i will dispel this myth is Chris is a believer and sends us one... So far, he is hesitant on doing so... That means the Hypertech module makes more hp then the AP and SB combined. I call horseshit on this.

The dyno sheet I seen was HP at red line not under the curve so I think thats why it gained 54 hp. Hypertech probably put in more R&D than Cobb and CPE combined thats just my opinion though.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well I thought the car felt pretty good after adding the Hypertech programming so I decided to take it to a local shop and see what she would put down on the dyno. It was a Dynojet 224 and it was 80+ degrees outside. I did pulls in both 4th and 5th gear and the results were about the same. Car made 278 whp and 308 lb-ft. Not bad for a 2008.5 MS3 sport with Cobb SRI, PG TIP, eBay test pipe, forge BPV and Hypertech programmer.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well the install was a breeze, Had to download the update on my PC first then to the tuner, Then the flash to the car took all of 4 mins. Frist impressions are good, Part throttle defintly feels better pulls a lot harder, I actually got torque steer preety hard in 2nd. Up top pulls good I pulled to 6k, and still felt strong. I really dont think I will be up that high to often, I will stay around 5500-5600. I did not change my rev limiter at all, Just removed the 0-60 throttle and picked the Cork Sport intake for my cobb. Will have to drive some more.. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score they say the tunes are not made for a an aftermarket exhaust, except for cat-back. They say its because they wouldn't be able to sell it in CA if they were promoting modifying emissions equipment. Then how does Cobb and CP-e do it? I call BS.

| Not Ranked : 0 score OK guys just made an appointment for a before and after Dyno run on Saturday( IF my plugs come on Thursday). I have presently removed the Hypertech till the plugs come.. I HAVE not had any issues just being extra careful. I know the Hypertech raised the boost to 18PSI and want to drop a heat range to be safe.. Side note where the hell to gap these. I have seen anywhere from 28-40 on here. EHH that's a huge difference. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ok over all impression. 1st is insane, and second gear you have to fight the wheel a bit to keep it strait.. Plus I'm seeing 20 PSI all the way to 6200k or so. I made some runs yesterday and got caught looking at the boost instead of the RPMS and was over 6k before I shifted( Almost 6500 OPPPSSS)..!!! Car pulls CRAZY hard reminds me ove my 11 sec EVO.. Not saying its that fast but pulls very hard.. OK getting the the A/F readings. I did some pulls a watch the A/F's- The all where right around 10.8-10.5 which I think is perfect. The Stock A/F was at 11.3. Last edited by ANMSPD3; 04-12-2010 at 09:08 AM. |

Did you get the before and after dyno pulls? That would help lend some legitamacy to this OTS tune.

| Not Ranked : 0 score They did more research than us? Heh. They contacted us about a few products. These off the shelf type maps will NEVER be as good as a real tuning solution. If anyone would like to come do a comparo I will do it on our dyno and have the two car do back to back runs. I will even allow the hypertech one to be done first so the standback pull is heatsoaked haha. |

I think the have been really friendly with competition. They haven't been rude with no one and they are just trying to offer another option for enthusiasts, yes CP-E and Cobb have more time doing this but that doesn't mean someone else can also make a shot. I always say this: If you dont risk, you don't win.

Why don't you just step back and let products talk for themselves. I see some actual dynos of very good gains on mildly modded ms3's for 4 minutes of a reflash, not 3 days of shipping and staring at the car. Sounds like an absolute win to me. If it makes you feel better though... we're very happy with the cp-e products we've used so far. This tag bracket is absolutely wonderful and keeps the air flow clean through the front bumper. Thank you, as without it, we could possibly run into overheating issues or higher charge air temps with a piece of metal and numbers embossed into it blocking our progress. It is absolutely unmatched for craftsmanship and design in ways to affix a license plate to a vehicle. Oh, one more thing. I will say thank you for the compliments on the turbo setup. As for the rest of the setup though, don't worry about it because it's all easily under control. I'm actually the one that's led this buildup, not adam who was at school for 85% of it. He's involved but definitely doesn't have a complete grasp on how this is going, so your 'concern' is duly noted, but not needed, thanks. (I woulda put this over in that thread but thanks to adam I'm 'removed from that discussion' now... I mean I'm only the guy that built it) -Jeff Last edited by vivid240; 05-07-2010 at 12:40 AM.

| Not Ranked : 0 score In no way am I bashing Hypertech. They were a pleasure to speak with on the phone. They are doing something completely different than the standback. They are offering a tune that is not tuneable to the end user. You simply plug it in - flash - and then unplug and go on your way. This is not a tune that you will ever make big numbers with. It is not a tune you could use with a big turbo that will allow you to go and get it dialed in. My comments were directed towards the R&D question. Competition is what drives us to do our best work. |
