Default Quick log review

Just looking for some reviews of my log. I know its rich up top, I'm running a bit more timing past 6000 RPM. I would like to see a bit more boost past 6000, but I think I'm already asking a bit much of the old K04

Noob input, but I don't see you having much room to improve on something that already looks rock solid and safe. I'd kill for your BATs, but I also get to drive my car like a full retard 11 out of 12 months of the year.

No corn or meth? No more timing, which is the only place I could see you making more power. And why run more boost past 6K? I think of that as unusable territory on the K04, but I could be wrong.

I know Lex tapers his OTS tunes from 11.6 to 11.0 for safety/KR/lower EGTs, and I don't think any nearly inconsequential gains from leaning out at higher RPM would be worth the risk.

I think you're at that point where you push the K04 till it pops and go big, or settle with what you have. Or get some higher octane via corn/meth and push some more timing for another ~25hp 35tq.

No meth and corn isn't available here. All I'm running is a lowly CXR FMIC, which lowered my BAT's by about 30 degrees compared to my SU TMIC. Funny thing is, after installing the FMIC and tuning I'm showing less power in VD compared to the TMIC. My logs are showing about 12 G/S more airflow with the FMIC and increased load values. But, the car feels strong.
I'm just posting it up to get a few more sets of eyes on it before I start playing with timing a bit more. All I've done so far is bumped up timing from 6000+ in the appropriate load areas.
I don't want to be part of the Zoom Zoom Boom club so I'll sacrifice a bit of power for some insurance when it comes to AFR.

I would do a small turbo upgrade in a heart beat, but I think the wife might have something to say about me spending another grand on the car. lol As you can tell I mod on a budget. (EBay downpipe, CXR FMIC) I even bought a broken SU 200 dollars TMIC and fixed it. lol

shit looks pretty good. i'm surprised her numbers dont seem as good as it should. you are flowing pretty well by getting just under 290g/s. i would think she could put some more power down with more timing and maybe even a leaner AFR(not proven to help but it did for some including me). just depends when you find your limit on safety vs power

Started playing with timing tonight and I've had some more success. Don't mind the knock in this data log, I've already tuned most of it out, I just deleted my last log by accident. I'm getting pretty close to 300 G/S. I'm asking a lot of that poor K04 but my boost air temps are still pretty reasonable!

The VD for that run.

It looks very good man, flowing almost 300g/s with a K04 even in 70F weather is pretty good.

If you want more boost up top the only route is big turbo. However, you can give it more timing up top, past 5500rpm or so. At that boost levels with 93 octane I think you can add at least one more degree, but do it in small increments to be safe and leave the timing where it is now below 5000-5500.

As already mentioned, you have room in timing. What tune strategy are you using? Unless you run into KR issues I'd let the turbo do what it can do up top and see what happens. If you start to run into KR, sacrifice boost over timing in the higher RPMs.

To be fair, it was only 60. lol

Strategy? lol

That's kind of what I was thinking of doing. I'm probably going to rev limit to 6500, toss in a tad more fuel then add a bit more timing past 6000 at my current boost levels. If it lets me put in a degree I'll probably be happy, if not I'll taper the boost down a bit more.

By strategy I mean load based, boost or hybrid?

Hybrid. Load limiting for traction in first and second, and I'm limiting load to 2.35 tapering 1.8 in all the other gears.
